He has to tell her. It's the best news they've had in such a long time, after all. He can't not take the news to the Diamond Castle, to the office of the new Ace of Diamonds.

There's no much stopping an excited Ten of Clubs being shown up to her office, after all. Not much stopping him from tapping at her door on a July afternoon with a spark in his eyes and a catch in his breath.

He'd always thought she'd be the one to tell him this news, really. At least, he had until she'd left. Until he'd gotten down on one knee in front of Argine.

And now, well, he can't think of anything but telling everyone. Telling Rachel.

It's not the same as her first wedding, for about a million reasons, none of which make any particular sense. There are fewer people she cares about and more people she's never met. There's a man she loves at the alter and no man she loves waiting in the wings.

More than anything, however, there's a darling little girl with her father's sparkling mischievous eyes absolutely refusing to wear her little flower crown for the ceremony. It's the best thing in the world to have Eileen in her life, to have this tiny perfect angel here in such a special day, but it's also got Argine at her wit's end trying to make things run smoothly.

Because she's marrying the man of her dreams today, even if he's not the father of her child, even if they've hurt each other badly in the past before coming to this moment, even if they've buried one of their best friends together and she's still got that man's wedding ring in her jewelry box.

She's exhausted with nerves by the time she's got Eileen's hair pinned up and sent her along with Tobias (the only family to actually attend on this side) and rushing with her own preparations and slapping on makeup when she realizes there's a rip in the corner of her blusher. It's too much on top of everything else. It's a miracle she hasn't done up her eyes yet as the tears spring to her eyes. It goes in the face of custom but she shoves her maid of honour toward the door with the half-sobbed directive "Please get Andrew. I need him."
