Your character has just had a night filled with wild, crazy, drunken partying. Inhibition was lost, and good times were had for all; it's really too bad they can't remember any of it. They find themselves waking in a very unmade bed, feeling peaceful and oddly refreshed. There's one problem, however--who is that next to them?

[Contrary to what may be popular belief to some of the student body, they didn't fall into bed together all that often. Sure, it might have been a repeat occurrence often enough that it wasn't strange or stilted when they did, and sure when it was close to it happening again, the tension between them could very well have been palpable to certain observant little devils, but well...

Something something keeping personal and professional lives separate.

In practice, that simply meant nothing was official. That meant, when Sam got up earlier than Crewel - as he tended to do, on mornings like this - he didn't cuddle in and try to go back to sleep (more than once). Instead, he slipped out, made coffee, went about his morning as quietly as possible - at least for a while. Once it got late enough that he didn't feel too terrible about waking the man still curled in his bed, but not so late that he'd need to usher him up and out the door outright, he settled in at the piano to play, letting soft, lilting music fill the space.]

[ every time is a last time, a final run at something that'll never amount to much more than rolling around for a little fun. it's why she always give it her all every time they do, going hard against his lap until the bed frame creaks beneath, until the headboard slams hard against the wall, like she's testing whether or not they could inevitably make it break. of course, with luthor money, the furniture in her apartment doesn't come cheap, durable enough to withstand even the wild, desperate sex they tend to get up. still, it doesn't stop her from trying.

this morning, she sleeps in, meetings already pre-canceled until the late afternoon, a good call on account of the number of drinks they'd had before and between rounds. but even that's been momentarily forgotten when she first flutters her eyes open, when the light streams in through the blinds as she groans with her mouth to the pillow.

squinting, she doesn't even immediately know the identity of the body beside her, jolting up to peer him over because she sees those recognizable smug lips, the cockiness of them seeming almost permanent even as he sleeps. as soon as she recalls the way she'd called him up the night before, she rolls her eyes, rubbing her fingers over them with another groan, regret already taking over. ] Shit.

All he knows is he wakes up, Nazuna is there, and apparently he's an extremely clingy drunk because he's got arms and legs wrapped around him. He probably drank enough water last night because his head isn't pounding.

( it's a toss up as to who wakes up first and Kate's known that for a while, even before she opens her eyes to find him still in her bed. the question of who sends the first text of the day oscillates from him to her and back again, depending on a million different factors.

today, she's the one who cracks her eyes open first, the awareness of an unfamiliar weight next to her bringing her out of a dark and dreamless sleep, the effects of last night's drinking scratchy and thick on her tongue.

eugh. water. she needs water. but in order to do that, she needs to climb over the lone, oversized obstacle between herself and the rest of her flat. dragging a hand down her face, Kate inhales and convinces herself to shift up, slowly trying to ease herself over Sam without waking him. )
