It still catches him by surprise even these days when Haru just...suddenly puts herself in his space, a place that is rarely breached by most people. Sure, he's used to his friends from 701 getting up close and personal, but they're all canines. It's normal behavior, so it's different. For Haru...it's not simply an act of affection, as much as it is one.
It's a complete show of trust. Done a bit more carelessly in Haru's case, but that doesn't change the fact that that's what it is.
Haru will feel Legosi's chest move as he gives a big, dog-like exhale once she's settled. It's definitely a relaxed gesture though, perfectly content with the dwarf rabbit using him as a chair. She's so warm he would be concerned she might have a fever, but he guesses it must be the last of the alcohol burning itself out of her system.]
Really? I would...like that a lot, actually.
[Like a LOT. She knows him well...Legosi's one true love before he met Haru was definitely the bugs he admired since he was a pup. It's strange that only now is he realizing how long it's been since he's done something like go to a museum or garden where he could actually see them.
After a moment of consideration, Legosi turns his right hand palm-up on his knee. A quiet offering to Haru, if she might want to hold it.]
I know a lot about different butterfly species. I should be able to tell you what each one of them are as we see them.
[she's not really thinking much about what she's doing, more or less acting on her own personal whims and what feels right for her. and for a rabbit, it feels perfectly natural to simply relax and recline when feeling warm and secure, even in the presence of another animal. it's a definite show of trust, one she thinks little of, and she rises and falls back a bit more against his chest as he exhales. her eyes close as he speaks; it's his usual nice low rumble.
makes her almost forget about how terrible she currently feels, and she's definitely forgotten about how miserable she felt last night.]
Good! We'll make it a date today, if I don't ruin it by throwing up. [said jokingly. she only just heard about it by way of a professor's recommendation, and couldn't help but think how it's a nice overlap between her own interests and Legosi's. it's both a selfish and selfless kind of date.
when she opens her eyes to continue her arduous trek of fighting her hangover, she takes note of his offered hand, and she takes it, hand small and fitting neat in his palm.] I'd like to hear all about them from you.
[A date...they're finally going on proper dates these days, aren't they? Only took them, what- almost two years to get that going.
Legosi's tail wags a little faster when Haru takes his hand, his mind already wandering as he thinks of the butterflies they might see.]

[This is a low-key task, too. Casually walking through a garden is probably the safest thing one could do after the kind of night Haru has had.
He closes his hand carefully over hers, watching the way his fingers curve over it and completely hide it from view. It's incredible even to Legosi just how long his claws are despite being meticulous about keeping them short. Are they getting longer as he gets older, he wonders...?]
You know, the way some insects are classified is interesting...there is a species of moth known as the Giant Leopard Moth, for example. The pattern on its wings look like leopard spots. It isn't the only insect named after another species of animal, either.
[He leans his head forward a little, his chin brushing the top of Haru's head.]
[it's still a bit of an effort to catch Legosi on a free day, their schedules so vastly different. even with all the freedom college affords compared to the regimented scheduling of highschool, she still needs to slot out days and times for the two of them to meet up, go on proper dates, continuing to get to know each other properly after all these years. his hand completely engulfs hers, but while he stops to marvel at it she instead focuses on how nice and warm he feels, and how the rhythm of his heart and tail wagging gives her something to focus on as her body still works against the toxins from last night.

Leopard plants grow along seashores. [after taking another sip of water, she deigns to lean forward and rummage through the bag of drink and foodstuffs he had been rifling through before.
just making herself right at home as they talk. if there's one good thing about this hangover, it's that it's given her a good excuse to just sit and feel domestic with him, even for a little while.]
[As far as the granola bars he picked up earlier go, there's a little bit of variety between them. One of them is largely nut based, another has honey, then yet another chocolate. Sometimes something a little sweet helps him feel better when he's feeling nauseas, so, that was his thought process there.
The domesticity is more than welcome. It's so rare even now that they've reached a point where they can share time together like this frivelously. Most of his time before was wasted going off being the Big Damn Hero and completely neglecting Haru because of it...he doesn't entirely regret the decisions he made then- especially since life is beginning to improve for them all because of it- but still...he could have done better.
No. He will do better, for Haru.]
Maybe...we can visit the beach sometime. To see them together.
[Locations he used to take for granted that he now considers vital and precious to the ecosystem of their world. He's not sure he thought about the sea as much before as he does nowadays.]
