Sometimes, a guy needs to switch up his routine. So he's started running to Hell's Kitchen in the evenings, where an older man who swears he looks familiar (Steve denies it, every time) lets him in to an old, hardly used gym called Fogwell's.

It's not the nicest place, but it's got a place for him to hang his punching bag, and a small ring to fight in. If he ever got a sparring partner.

So that's become his new routine. Jog over to Fogwell's, destroy another punching bag, jog back for a cool down. It's nice. It's different. People don't recognize him as much.

[The first thing he notices, for better or worse, is Archie Kennedy's hair.

Not right away, of course. Looking back, Horatio can't be entirely sure when the world had bloomed from the dull monochromatic landscape he'd been accustomed to (grey, he's learning now) into something with depth and brightness, with proper shades and incredible variety. Everyone he'd known had spoken of how dazzling the transition had been, how stunning to find oneself suddenly awash with the reality of tone and warmth.

But whatever joy there might have been in the moment had been swallowed by the absolute misery of his first moments at sea, utterly green (which he understands, now) around the gills and barely able to distinguish the new murky variegation of the sea from the unhappy blur of darkness it had been to unhappy blur of darkness slightly tinged with blues it was now.

When his stomach settles, though, he notices Archie Kennedy's hair. It ripples slightly in the shifting light, bursts of new colours seeming to shimmer into existence with the rock of the ship. It glows faintly at the edges, where some trick of the light turns the edges warm and rich before it bleeds into simple brightness.

He's not sure he's ever seen anything so captivating before in his life.]

{ Another guilty pleasure. I like Will as a defective soulmate since he might be actively blocking the connection, so I added how it might be affected. m/m pref, but open to m/f.

What I got:
i. A red string tied around your pinky is connected to your soulmate’s pinky (when the two of you are in a certain distance) ; most likely a diluted red akin to a withering rose, making him think he does not have a soulmate or they have died.

ii. See/hear/speak/etc for the first time when you meet ; like the "seeing color for the first time", but for Will he's delayed in this regard so even if he meets his soulmate, the colors will be erratic and he's most likely missed the memo.
