sweet dreams.

Someone, whether it be a friend or a total stranger, has fallen asleep on you wherever you happen to be; you are a rather comfortable pillow to them.

Anubis is aware that he has a tendency to fall asleep in strange places. Of no fault to his own—! Maybe. Technically. Anubis had tended to work himself for so long that by the time he had a chance to stop and breath—he just fell asleep. Thoth said it would get him in trouble one day, but considering it hadn’t yet Anubis just shrugged at his friend. He was tired, and he liked sleeping in warm places, and no one bothered him when he was asleep. Dead or alive.

So like many days, when he worked for long strings at a time, Anubis got tired. He was in a small town, a place called Beacon Hills, and the sun was just so bright in the sky that it felt nice. He stretched and yawned, rubbed at his eyes as he tried to stay awake. He wasn’t stupid, falling asleep in the middle of the street wouldn’t be the brightest thing that he could do. He just needed to find somewhere to sit down so he started walking.

There was a school, closed at this hour though it seemed kids were playing some sort of sports game with sticks. It reminded him of a game they played in Egypt, way back when Anubis was still young, with a ball made of papyrus. There was a boy next to him, he didn’t pay them much attention, and it was getting progressively harder to just stay awake. Anubis covered his yawn, stretched his body a bit and then swayed every so slightly to the side.

It was quite warm here. Maybe for just a few minutes he could sleep. Just a few.

His eyes closed and just like that he was fast asleep. He swayed to the side, head falling onto the boy beside him that he had previously ignored. They were quite comfortable, warm too, and Anubis moved a bit closer into that warmth. He tucked his face more against them, seeking more of that comfort.
