Richie loves the movie Final Destination. He's seen it a million times. It's probably not where his mind should be going right now, but he can't help it.

Toward the end of the movie, the surviving characters are sitting at a Paris cafe six months after having avoided a flight that ended in disaster. One of the characters says, "I can't believe we got on a plane again." That specific line is where Richie's mind is going right now. Because, shit.

He can't believe they went to a carnival again. Granted, they don't have quite the same associations with carnivals that Bill has, and he's pretty sure this carnival doesn't have clowns. Oh God, he hopes this carnival doesn't have clowns. But the fact that they're at a carnival feels pretty significant to him.

Richie's eyes are drawn to the stage where they're setting up for a magic show. "Oh! Let's go see the magic show!" He doesn't even think as he grabs Eddie's hand to drag him to get a good spot--especially not about what happened to two guys who held hands at a carnival in Derry right before Mike called them back there. Nope. That kind of thing doesn't happen in sunny California, especially when Pennywise is very dead.
