hatesex: there's no spark here, as it's more like a raging inferno of resentment towards your insignificant other.

[ It's a strange feeling, being spread out on a robotics workbench like this. Stone's never been in quite so vulnerable a position around Doctor Robotnik - not even when he took a bullet to the knee during that Russian terrorist lab raid last year. Then again, that was the kind of vulnerability that comes from being injured, not from willingly offering yourself up to a mad scientist for experimentation.
Despite feeling uncomfortable, though, he's still a consenting partner in this little operation. He prepped as best he could, cleaning himself and shaving dwn any unnecessary body hair (except for his beard; that's something he can't quite compromise on). Now here he is, shirtless, shoeless, wearing little more than a pair of sweats, as he waits for Robotnik to start working on him. ]
Ready when you are, Doctor, [ he says, glancing over at the other man and giving him a small smile. Despite his nerves, he's actually kind of excited about this. After all, how many times have they discussed it? How many times has Stone dreamt about what he could become, if he let the doctor do as he wished? In the end, he trusts Robotnik, and that's all that matters. ]
[It takes a little bit of time for Robotnik to actually get prepared, but eventually he makes his way in with a toolbox, some kind of cart of medical and other supplies, and a few small helper robots. He might seem a little overprepared, but he knows what he's doing. And now that he's got everything ready, he can just look at Stone for a little while. Despite the unfortunately organic nature of his assistant, he's somehow managed to become attracted to him, and soon? He'll be even better.]
I'll say. It doesn't look like I'll have to do much to prepare you.
[He doesn't usually work with organics, of course; he's not quite that kind of doctor. (Capable of being so, absolutely. Willing to go through even more of the education system just for a piece of paper giving him permission? Absolutely not.)
He speaks up as he starts laying tools out in what seems to be some kind of esoteric order. Some are clearly meant for surgical use, while others are more technological in nature. He's got a professional air, but there's definitely an underlying excitement.]
Remember, you don't have to go through with any part of this. Except when I actually have to put you under, so make sure to get any and all objections out before that. This will be a multi-step process, so if this is as far as you want to go... well, I'll obviously be disappointed, but it's your call.
[ It's not as though this is the first time Robotnik's stared at him - hell, he did that even before all of this physical stuff started - but it still makes Stone blush like a kid with a crush. He respects the doctor more than anyone else in the world, and having his attention so focused like this makes a pleasant, fuzzy sort of feeling fill his chest.

The fact that he's about to be put under the knife without a totally clear picture of what's about to happen doesn't help, either.
But again: he trusts the doctor.
Robotnik's willingness to give Stone an out helps him relax, and his expression grows fond as he replies, ]
I want to do this. All of it. [ There's a pause, and then he adds: ] I want to be like your machines.
[ Special. Perfect. Unlike anything else in the world. ]
[There's something almost sinister in his expression, but it comes with the territory. He's the mad scientist standing over his latest project: the man that somehow wormed his way into his heart. And he wants to be like his machines. What a catch!

It's okay if it's unlike anything else in the world - Robotnik himself is completely unique, totally different from anyone Stone's ever encountered.
And maybe he's biased, but he feels like the doctor treats him differently than everybody else. He can't stand people, yet he keeps Stone by his side, even kisses him now and then. For his own part, Stone simply wants to be everything the doctor needs, to take care of him in every way possible.
If becoming a machine makes him better able to do that, how can he possibly say no?
His brow furrows in concentration as he looks at the electronics that Robotnik holds up, nodding slowly at the explanation. When they get to the small chip Stone tilts his head slightly, his glance darting to Robotnik for a moment. ]
[This is certainly the strangest relationship Robotnik's ever been in, mainly because it's the first. Weird concept, and he'll never be completely sure he actually likes it, but despite all of his efforts he's ended up succumbing to it all the same.

On the other, it's also difficult; everything about relationships is new to him, and he often does things unintentionally that would make any conventional boyfriend turn and run. Stone's the patron saint of patience, apparently, because none of those things - like pointing out his flaws, or insulting his intelligence, or not totally understanding how sex works - really bother the agent all that much.
This is just the next step, really. The next stage in their relationship. Some people get promise rings, they... get to be connected by computer chips that link Stone's brain to Robotnik's fingertips. It's not that different, right?

[His cuts are precise, his work just as decisive as he is with his robots, and it doesn't take long until the thin electronic components are inserted just under Stone's skin. He's quick with the stitches, too, although it might be mostly because he has the robot helping him again. But why not? That's the whole point of having the machines in the first place.
It still takes some time getting it all done, but soon enough he pulls away just a bit.]
Look at that, your mechanical nature truly starts to reveal itself. About time! Soon, it'll feel exactly like it should: like it's part of you. Now the other arm.

They may be a strange pair, but that doesn't make him immune to little things like holding hands and being affectionate. In fact, because it's so rare for Robotnik so show those feelings, it makes them all the more meaningful.
He winces ever so slightly at the injection, more from reflex than pain. When his eyes catch the glint of the scalpel in Robotnik's hand he swallows, realizing once more that, yes, they're actually about to do this.
It doesn't hurt when his skin slides apart, quick and easy beneath the blade; in fact, Stone can't help but watch with a disgusted sort of fascination. He's had more than enough injuries to be comfortable with not only the sight of his own blood, but also exposed bones and musculature. It's Robotnik himself that makes the procedure so interesting to him. He's never seen the doctor work on humans before. It makes him feel more machine-like, even though they've only just taken the first step down that road, simply because Stone so closely associates the way Robotnik's fingers move with seeing him working on robots.
When it's done, Stone is surprised at how... normal he feels. It doesn't hurt yet, thanks to the anaesthetic, and while it's a tiny bit uncomfortable he can't help beaming down at his arm. It's almost as though he finally, truly belongs to Robotnik.
As he holds out his other arm, he watches Robotnik's face, his own expression like that of an excited child. ]
Thank you, [ he says, suddenly overwhelmed with emotion. ] Thank you for doing this.
[He lets out a gentle laugh as he reaches out to grab Stone's other arm, but what he says and the obvious excitement behind it gives him pause. Sure, he agreed to this, and sure, he clearly wants it, but having him thank him for it is... well, he likes it, he can say that.]
...You're welcome.
[He's trying to hide the surprise in his voice, but he's doing a pretty bad job of that. At least it doesn't cause any issue with his actual work, and he brings the small robot over to prep Stone's other arm in just the same way.]
I certainly can't complain about the enthusiasm. Guess I'll take that as a sign to keep going. And... thank you for assisting in my work like this.
[Normally, he'd prefer to be working on anything else. The human body is unpleasant and messy to work with, even with preparation. But watching Stone slowly become better under his own hand, even if just a little for now, is somehow even better than building a machine from scratch.
