Deserve to be Happy

If we're honest, fictional characters can be generalized into two camps: 1. good people who have crap happen to them or 2. just crappy people. But bad or good, cheery or grouchy, undeserving or no, we sometimes shamelessly want them to have something nice in life. Or, more accurately, someone nice. A certain someone to give them kisses and their favorite foods, to make sure they have a blanket when they fall asleep, and maybe to whisk them away on fun dates/adventures? If they're lucky, this somebody may even give killer back rubs.

But forget your shame, okay? No judgement here. This is just a cute meme for all your gross (shipping) needs, where your character can get all the happiness they deserve...or don't. Whatever!

Comment with your character's info, your prefs, all those goodies. You can also include info about what would make your character really happy or if there's a particular role you'd like to play (maybe the one doing the cheering up?).

[ becoming Queen (or the equivalent in any AU) is definitely something that would make Margaery happy, but it’s more a family ambition that she's grown up with her entire life. she's not quite sure what would make her happy, as she's never really thought about what she wants for herself.

so perhaps a very low key, slowburn romance with someone who initially has no idea who she is and disarms her with earnest feelings? or an established couple thread where her partner is someone she can build an empire with, but also a genuinely good person who cares about her as an individual.

on the flipside, if anyone needs a ride or die queen who will encourage them to aim higher and reach their full potential, Margaery’s your girl. c: ]

[It seems ironic that an archangel might have a more twisted sense of morality than even the Devil himself but here we are. Michael's never really experienced true freedom or exorcised his free will, too busy trying ~~and failing~~ to be the angel his Father wanted. Might be nice for him to have a break from that?]

[ Music plays on the radio as Danny works around the open kitchen, the large windows of the apartment giving a stunning view of New York City, the sky colorful shades of pink and purple as the sun settles. It's the apartment Jeri Hogarth had provided for him when he first came back to the city and was still trying to prove to Ward and Joy that he was who he said he was. That he had not died in that plane crash fifteen years ago.

It's a too fancy apartment, never quite a place where Danny feels fully comfortable, but a safe place nonetheless. He still sleeps more often on the floor than in his bed, but Danny hopes that the expensive and soft sheets would be of his roommate's liking. They're so high up that the sounds of the city barely reach them, which means that someone with enhanced senses wouldn't have to worry about NY's noise stressing him further. Danny also keeps the music to a low volume to make sure it doesn't disturb Matt more than necessary (he fears it still happens, however, because the Devil of Hell's Kitchen can even hear heartbeats).

It's been a little more than two months since Midland Circle. Two months since they buried the Hand members under the surface of the city and Matt Murdock with them. Or so they feared at the time. It was a good thing that they were all too stubborn to give up so easily and that Jessica had such tracking skills. She realized that Matt's unconscious body was swept by the waters of an underground sewer out of ruins. Danny kept him stable using the healing powers of the Ironfist and Luke carried the man out of there and away from the prying eyes of the police. All in all, it was one of the most effective team efforts they ever had.

Life was a mess after that: appearances needed to be kept and things discussed with the police, but Luke was right when he said that Danny's money could open many doors and make things easy. It could also stop a lot of complaints, pay for property damage repairs and get Misty a new robotic arm. Danny told Matt all about it when he caught the man conscious or just to fill the air when the silence was too much, to keep him informed while he recovered from his injuries.

Danny's healing powers could only do so much, though. He had exhausted them the first days after Midland Circle fell, trying to heal Matt's wounds and get him out of his coma. Danny passed out for a whole day and a half as well, and Jessica called him an idiot for three hours straight after waking up in a tone that suggested she was more startled than mad. It was sweet that she cared so much, really. Matt spent the first weeks unconscious and an array of very different people visited Danny's apartment on the regular to check on him: Foggy Nelson, Karen Page, Claire Temple, Colleen Wing, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones...Now that Matt spent more days awake than lethargic, the visits became more sporadic and Danny had the feeling that Matt might enjoy the quietness.

Humming to himself, the blond sets the food he's made on a tray (an ungodly amount of Chow Mein, Kung Pao Chicken and pork dumplings, because Danny's stomach is a bottomless pit) next to a big glass of water. There was also a smaller one containing herbal tea for himself, and he takes a sip before heading towards Matt's bedroom. Danny knocks softly on the door with his feet before walking in, knowing it's pointless but polite, and peers his head inside to see if Matt's awake. ]
