The HOLY GRAIL WAR Meme

Seven Masters, magi of the present day. Seven Servants, heroes of days past.
One Holy Grail, granting whomever claims it a wish. Only one team of Master and Servant may claim it.
Who will it be?
For those unfamiliar with Fate/Stay Night or Fate/Zero, you can find a better explanation of the Holy Grail War here. (Note: The Holy Grail War in Fate/EXTRA functions in a dramatically different way, and one not followed for purposes of this meme.)


Instructions
1. Comment with your character. In the subject line, put that character's name, canon, and which role (Master, Servant, or either) you would like them to fulfill. Add other preferences if you would like. (NOTE: If your character can fill the role of Servant, I suggest you state which class(es) -- Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, or Berserker -- they fall into.)
2. Reply to others' comments. Pick your character's role (and the other character's if they list "Either" as their preference), then use the RNG to pick a scenario that fits the two characters' roles.
3. Enjoy! Though there might be triggers, depending on how the prompts are interpreted.


TWO MASTERS


1. Battle. Who says that Servants get to have all the fun? After all, most Masters try to kill each other, too. Whatever the circumstances, the two of you are locked in a fight. Neither of you are willing to use your Command Spells just yet, so no Servants here. Just two magi duking it out.

2. Alliance. There's a bigger threat out there. Either one Servant is exceptionally powerful, or the situation has changed and the participants need to take action aginst it. One way or another, you're teamed up with one of your rivals for the Holy Grail. How long will this last before you try to stab each other in the back? Or, will something more develop?

3. Protection. Uh-oh! One of you has lost your Servant! Unfortunately, there's no way you'd get to the church safely on your own, so the other one will help you get there! Or maybe you don't trust the priest presiding over the Holy Grail War and are giving shelter to them yourself? Given their track record, no one would blame you.

4. Death. One or both of you lay dying. It might have been by the other's hand, or by someone else's entirely. How will you spend your last moments in the presence of one of your rivals?

5. You, Too? Surprise! You may have been friends before, but you've just discovered that you're both Masters! How will you handle this revelation?

6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!


MASTER AND SERVANT


1. Are You My Master? The summoning is complete. Whether intentional or not, catalyst or not, a magus has summoned a Servant. What kind of meeting was it? Was everything totally under control, or did a hitch occur? Or maybe it happened in the middle of a life-or-death situation!

2. Identity. Either the Servant has flat out told the Master their identity, or they unleashed their Noble Phantasm. Either way, the cat is out of the bag. How will the Master react, now that they know their Servant's name and legend? Will anything change between the two?

3. Battle Aftermath. A battle has just ended. Who participated? Are either of you hurt? Did the Master have to use a Command Spell? Any number of things could have happened here.

4. Discord. Uh-oh. It looks like the Master and the Servant don't get along. Here come the arguments! Don't do something stupid, like waste a Command Spell over a triviality...

5. Love. And then, there's the opposite. Sometimes Masters and Servants fall in love with each other. How will this affect things?

6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!


TWO SERVANTS


1. Battle. This is what usually happens when two Servants meet -- they duke it out. This probably says enough as it is.

2. Alliance. There's a bigger threat out there. Either one Servant is exceptionally powerful, or the situation has changed and the participants need to take action against it. One way or another, you're teamed up with one of your rivals for the Holy Grail. How long will this last before you try to stab each other in the back? Or, will something more develop?

3. The Grail Dialogues. Maybe you're not interested in fighting just yet. Maybe you just want to sit down and talk with the other Servant. Find out what they want, what makes them tick. Get some wine while you're at it -- nothing like good wine to go with good talk!

4. Death. One or both of you lay dying...again. It might have been by the other's hand, or by someone else's entirely. How will you spend your last moments in this War in the presence of one of your rivals?

5. Identity. Congratulations, you've just learned each other's identities! Will this change the situation, or will you press onward?

6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!

THE STENTCH of insects perpetrated the air, it's fervent stains seemed to hold a thick musk that laid thick in the atmosphere around her. To which the woman, as the fog dissipated to reveal the length of her figure. Would make a foul. Cruel. Most heinous gaze toward who it were to be their master, and to their surprise.

There had not been before her - what she thought. One whom she thought to tide her anger outright - potentially erupt her anger from within. Serve a swift death from her sword, a bit of self proclaimed justice to be summoned by someone who were akin to an evil insect. Allowing thus her own death to begin as the grail war had yet to even start - that was the kind of woman hail'd for her glories of demon slaying. Was. And. Could be.

Except.

What she was granted, the master before her... Was but a soft and seemingly simple girl.

Raikou's expressive soften immediately, and ignoring all other existences save for the young woman before her. The Servant gently bowed, "I am Minamoto no Raikou, Sab... Oh... Rider? How shameful, I am sorry. It would seem you will not get me at my fullest for this Grail war, I do hope I can help you regardless... Little one."

[It doesn't necessarily surprise Chuuya that he's summoned by someone young. He's always liked kids better than other adults - if he's going to be taking orders from anyone, it ought to be someone he actually likes.

So he can tell right away, when the smoke clears, who his Master is, without needing to glance at his command spells for confirmation. But he isn't expecting the state of him.]

It would seem the end of the battle would come to be, they had only but one servant left and by the estrange miracle - no it was by his helping hand alone. Nana had managed to come out on top - having managed to send back the lives of the servants without the cost to any one human life. With great price of course - to Nana herself.

Their last foe, would be the heaviest cost to Nana herself. They were a heartbroken man whom thought by achieving the Grail he may reach the root and commit the act of magic to bring back his lost love.

Nana understood that.... Understood the pain he felt - not in a sense that she had lost her love one to death... Merely that, all good things seemed to always come to an end.

Thusly, she had reconciled that if there was a way to save every single one of them. To pay the price for this miracle. She would do as much. With her life on the line for it.

"Assassin..." Nana began, speaking thusly into what seems the wind. Yet it were to her servant, whom had in current been hidden into a mana like construction, "Will you end my life, at the end of this all? If it does not work out - If I am not able to make this foolish and selfish wish come true - will you end my life?"


At the end of it all, she was just a tired exhausted soul who wanted nothing more for the best of the world and never for herself. To her, the silence and welcome of death seemed like an eternal slumber she would welcome gleefully.

Alternatively, she can be a Saber with really godawful tier stats, or an Avenger. As an Avenger, her general stats are also pretty bad, but Higurashi spoilers every time she dies, she can loop back to the beginning of the War with all of her memories intact as part of her Noble Phantasm. However, the more she uses this Noble Phantasm, the span of time between the time of death and time brought back lessens.

I can also play her physically older, if anybody prefers that.]

[The last time they fought this battle, it didn't go well, if the threshold for going well was "not dying and/or blowing up half the city." But this time, Rika talked Haruka into sneaking around the other way, and they barely managed to get the Servant to retreat and prevent their array from going off. That seems like a win, even if Rika's poor Master is collapsing dramatically on the roof of a public building.]

As a Master, Higurashi spoilers instead of the 'tattoo swap', Mion was given the magic crest as a child for the swap rather than her sister. She was primed to have to fight in the Holy Grail War as a Master and is actually a very decent magus at that. While her family still has some tendencies to think like a 'proper magus', Mion herself thinks outside of the box and wants to change how things are with magi. She's also a part of an extremely wealthy, extremely well known magi family with very high standing, in spite of the fact that she's from a backwater village. She's still the heiress to the Sonozaki name, part of the three families, etc.

As a Servant, you get a few options: 1) Saber Mion - who is actually an older iteration of herself (at 40/Yoigoshi-hen) that was summoned in order to have her wish granted, as she died with some regrets. 2) Archer Mion, aka either The Swimsuit Version or Mion with an Actual Gun or 3) Ruler Mion, who is there because she doesn't really have anything to wish for on the grail, actually.]

[With the Holy Grail War coming soon, it was important for magi to summon their Servants to prepare for the upcoming battles. Usually, Sabers were the most desired class due to how well-rounded they were. Whether she heard rumors about the "Legendary Hero of Yokohama" who bore a dragonfish tattoo on his back or was summoning a Servant at random without a catalyst, she would certainly get a Servant worthy of the Saber class.

Though compared to most Sabers who might've been more royal and strictly, this man looked like a thug who was born out from the streets. He could've easily been mistaken as a wild criminal... Though the very friendly and joyful smile on his face demeaned that impression as he appeared in the magical circle with a big flash. He rests what appeared to be a golden baseball bat over his shoulder.]
