I have so many PSL and crossover ideas but let me just put down my favorites.

1) Hans/Emma (Victorian Romance Emma) AU either taken from after episode 9 of the second season (where William first shows up and proposers to Emma at the Molders home in London) or episode 10 (where Hans proposes to Emma after a day's outing).

With the episode 10 scenario, Emma can either have accepted Hans' proposal rather than turning him down. The relationship would start off awkward but I'd really love to see how this progresses.

2) I play Alice Malvin from Pumpkin Scissors and I've always wanted a crossover between her, her castmates (if any exist out there) and Fullmetal Alchemist people. Alice is very deadly serious about being part of the army, her family's army background and what it means to be a noble. I'd just laugh at the constant fights she'd end up having with Roy Mustang, okay? And maybe I ship it just a little.

Are you friends on plurk or aim? How long have you been threading together?

Being friends in an ooc place makes it a bit easier, but not required. And the longer you've threaded together the more comfortable it will be for both parties.

Honestly, after I have had a few good threads with them with good chemistry(preferably with some sort of intimate contact such as kissing in them), I would privately contact them and ask them how they feel about playing out something more intimate.

Worst case scenario they say they don't play out smut. Best case, you can try something out! Just be sure to be super polite.

subject line acronyms?

I'm kind of new to this RP format. I don't know what a lot of the subject line acronyms mean. (e.g. the ones that people put after their character name and their canon)

I know that OTA is "open to anything", but does "m/f" mean 'male or female responders okay' or the OP only wants male-female interaction (if the OP character is male, that only female characters may respond)?

Is there a guide to this stuff anywhere? In fact, is there a "guide to RPing in threads" guide? I could use it. V_V

Generally, yes.

M/F, a male character asking for female replies.

Generally, generally(and I can't stress this enough as Your Mileage May Vary) they don't mind male characters replying as long as you are not looking for romance or smut.

Same for f/m, only it's a female asking for male replies. If you're unsure and just want some lulz or general RPing, just try PMing them, but usually they'll put down in the actual post whether they don't mind general RP with anyone or not.

I would love to pick up Nita Callahan from Young Wizards, or Ponch for some world hopping/squirrels. But Young Wizards is such a tiny fandom, not sure if anyone would even know who they are.

And if anyone knows who Cafall (Dark is Rising) is... not that that muse would get much play.

RP, Muns, and Gender?

It's not what you think it is, honestly. Seeing the drama above about that Stormy guy or whatever got me thinking.

Basically, I've been RPing since I was...*counts* 14? Yeah, let's go with 14, a little bit before X-Men: Last Stand premiered in theaters. Anyway. I've always noticed the ratio of gals to guys in the RP world (the real people, the muns, not characters/muses) have always been pretty steep. The girls always outnumber guys, whom I have only met a handful throughout my years of RPing, and no, I'm not complaining.

THAT'S not the problem however.

It's the assumed stigma I think there is about guy RPers, especially when it comes to writing smut. We're all adults here (for the most part) but I can't help but think that the person I'm writing against will become awkward that SHE is writing against me, a GUY. Is this true? Do female RPers get awkward after learning the gender of whom they're writing with or is it just me? I mean, I even avoid AIM most times because I always feel so obligated to say, hey you know, I'm a guy. Yeah. And tone doesn't translate well through text anyway so I wouldn't know if they were actually freaked out even if they say otherwise, but at the same time, they haven't stopped playing with me.

I dunno. It's just weird sometimes, especially since I play a Derek and do "Sterek"...I mean, I am not wanking or anything! I'm just... incredibly paranoid.

Feedback is certainly a must and would be appreciated, I need to know if I'm just crazy or right for hiding(?)

My only issue with playing a guy character against a male player is the nagging feeling that I'm completely fucking anatomy or reactions up when it comes to smut. It's a case of "oh, you have that equipment and have way more experience with it and you must think I'm a moron" rather than being skeeved out.

I don't write smut that often, so it's not such a concern that it would drive me to drop threads. If I found out my RP partner was a guy and we were writing m/m together, I'd just apologize in advance for any fuck ups that might occur.

I don't even know if people are still looking at this post, but why not.

I'm not hating on them, I'm just wondering why. People that post up into memes.

Some of them are canonmates and I am tempted to tag, but I just can't bring myself to because I have the problem of "do I want to work up a tag that will require thought and good writing for a canonmate I never see tag anyone?"

That or they're they type that drops a thread after 5 comments max.

Granted, RL issues happen, and PMs can happen, but I've never seen evidence of it(a finished thread or even backtagging).

Can you give me some reasons why people won't tag anyone? Or polite suggestions for these people to improve their RP experience?
