Do you want to get rid of your companion? Peace to the Vengeful — All you wanted to do was do a kind deed and help them achieve peace, not become eternally grateful. Remember — Both of you are bound and determined to find out who you were as a living mortal. The knowledge might tear you apart. Different Time, Different Place — This ghost is of a person who's a bit...antiquated compared to you. Careful, they may want to court you. It certainly makes things awkward when they see how you dress. Jealousy — Lights burst, glass cracks, and the whole place goes cold when someone with a pulse smiles at you. Protection — You'll risk your afterlife for the one you love. Confession — If you can communicate vocally, confessions are easy. If you can't talk, that's a whole other kettle of fish. The Challenge of Intimacy — Ghost makes it look so easy. You want to reach out and touch them, but you can't always do that. Manifestation — Your emotions have temporarily given you a physical form. Keeping You Here — The living's affection keeps the dead in the mortal coil. Decay — The longer they stay with you, the more of a violent wraith, disconnected from their past, they become. Passing — You have to let them go, even if they don't want to. Just Like Heaven — You'll work together to find a way to bring you back to life. ANYTHING ELSE?

"That plan's not going to work." The ethereal voice came from behind Rey as the young woman sat in during a strategy meeting among some of the Resistance, the words somewhat blending in with the breeze that passed through the trees.

Brianna Solo sat perched on a low branch of one of said trees, one foot propped on the branch as she leaned against the trunk and the other leg hanging freely, still a bit above the ground. She had died as Kylo Ren and yet the familiar cloak and armor were absent. Still dark colors but the jacket and pants were casual, similar to something she'd worn in the interim before she called herself Kylo, or that she might have worn if she'd gotten to take the life path she had truly desired to.

Brianna tilted her head, strands of blonde falling across her face before getting tucked away, as she eyed Rey, trying to decide if her soulmate the younger woman was choosing to ignore her or simply hadn't heard. Her gaze lifted to the ranking member currently outlining their idea for the next strike against the First Order and shortly was prompted to roll her eyes and shake her head.

"It won't work." she declared louder, pointedly staring at Rey. Though she was briefly distracted by a slight movement from her mother and a glance not quite in her direction. Brianna hadn't been able to sort out if her mother could hear her or was aware of her presence — and truthfully she hadn't tried to make contact with Leia just in case she couldn't, as she wasn't sure if she could handle that particular sorrow just yet (or ever) — but very quickly after dying she had confirmed that she could still communicate with Rey, and vice versa. Something to do with their bond, she assumed. That or simply with her. Just because her physical body was gone didn't mean her spirit had lost any of its power necessarily.

A bond she was still trying to get to the bottom of. After all, it seemed to her that death was less an end and more simply a different state; what she could do with that information Brianna wasn't entirely sure but she intended to find out.

[ His curiosity and need to be right had ultimately been his undoing. At the time, the need to prove his knowledge and point it out was a sense of pride he couldn't ignore. Taking the bait from Sirius Black, someone who had been at odds with him since before they were even sorted was also a bad decision overlooked by his own pride and loathing of the quad who always seemed to skirt the edge of trouble without the repercussions. The disruptive Gryffindors who scraped by with little more than a detention amongst them. Dumbledore favored them Merlyn knew why...

What utter bollocks. Death hadn't been something glorious or beautiful. It had been burning, sluggish, and terrifying. Had he been able to die from the shock of the truth in front of him, he may have been spared the pain of bleeding out. That was not his luck. He may have survived the slash of claws that ripped through cloth and skin like a hot knife through butter, but it hadn't been what killed him. Petrified at the thought of being felled by a werewolf and given the chance to escape, Severus hadn't really known where to run. The forest hadn't been his brightest idea, but better to hide amongst other things than being run down trying to flee back to the castle.

Being eaten wasn't any less terrifying.

He never anticipated anything after. It was a bit like waking up after a long sleep, awareness coming at the periphery before everything came into stunning focus. Severus had watched, invisible and with a strange sort of detachment, everything that had come after. All from the sidelines, unable to bear being asked questions or facing the inevitable ridicule that played like a broken record in his own head. Imagined interactions and smug, sneering faces. Snivellus died doing what he did best. Instead of facing it or confronting things because he was apparently a ghost, he hid himself away. Refused to be seen. Kept to himself, reading in the library or roaming the halls which had no boundaries for him, now.

Time didn't really pass as it had before. The only way to truly tell was the coming and going of students. Fresh, new faces each year that passed. When he'd become bored, his favorite haunt became the dungeons. The potions classroom had always been where he felt in his element. Depending on the mood that struck him, Severus was either mischievous or benevolent. Those who showed promise might occasionally find notes scrawled off to the margins to perfect their technique, or a spoon stirring their cauldron on its own. Anyone who he deemed annoying may find an ingredient or two missing. Perhaps even a surplus dumped into their potion.

Word travels fast when strange things start happening unexplained. Severus quite fancied the reputation he was gaining as the unknown ghost who lurked in the dungeons. The rumors circling about as to where the specter had come from and what it wanted. Very seldom did he let himself be seen. Sometimes, it was entirely on accident as he became involved in what he was doing. Students would catch a glimpse of him before being gone in a flash. How much did it really matter when anyone who knew of him had long-since graduated? ]
