SLAVES

1. The Newbie - This is your very first auction and you don't quite know what to expect. Hopefully you remember your training and don't disgrace yourself in front of your new master. Hopefully someone thinks you're worth buying at all.

2. The Oldtimer - You've been bought and sold and bought again so many times. You've seen it all before and don't think this time is going to be much different. In fact, the only real anxiety you've got is whether or not someone's going to pay for a more than slightly used slave.

3. The Pet - You're a pleasure slave. A bed warmer. A decorative piece of artwork. You're meant to look pretty and be pleasing and not much else.

4. The Guard - Your master hired you because of your ability to swing a sword or shoot a gun, not your looks.

5. The Escape Artist - Somehow you always manage to squirm out of your master's chains. Too bad you seem to get caught after a while. Maybe your next daring escape will be permanent. Then again, maybe your next master has special ways of keeping you locked up.

6. The Undercover - You aren't a slave at all, you're just pretending to be one. Why? Well that's up to you. Either way, your cover is blown if you don't act the part.

7. The Specialist - You have a skill that no one else has. Something rare and valuable. Something your master needs more than anything else.

MASTERS

1. The Customer - You've owned slaves before and this trip to the market is nothing new to you. Still, you're hoping to find something worth your while.

2. The Gift - Someone bought a pet for you, isn't that nice of them? Or maybe it isn't so nice. Did you even want a slave in the first place? Well you're stuck with one now.

3. The Giver - You're selecting a slave for someone else, and they need to be perfect. Perhaps you'd better test them out first to make sure you're getting your money's worth.

4. The Trainer - You specialize in taming unruly slaves and making them over into perfect, obedient, well-trained pets.

5. The Rebel - You hate the idea of slavery, but the system isn't going to go away any time soon, so the next best thing is to buy up any slave you can get your hands on and free them, right?

6. The Companion - You want someone to be with you always, someone you can talk to and depend on, someone who will never leave your side. It's a good thing that money can buy that these days.

7. The Undercover - You're not actually a Master. You're at the auction for an entirely different reason. Maybe it's special policework, maybe you're trying to hunt down a certain someone. Either way, your cover is blown unless you act the part.

[The former Sith Lord stopped at the cage that held the petite girl in it. Despite her size, there was a fury radiating off of her even Maul could feel, like she was just waiting for a chance to rebel at the first chance that she got. The chains wrapped around her spoke of the buyer's firm intent to try and keep her in place until the auction was over.

Maul had been through a lot by now, outliving the Jedi, the Empire, the Rebel Alliance and seeing the rise of the First Order and the Resistance that fought it. Everything rose and fell like the tides of a sea. There was nothing new in the universe for him to be surprised at. A cockroach was easier to kill than him by now and his name was still well-known in the criminal sectors.

What made him stop at the cage was what he felt rolling off the girl in waves. She was strong with the Force, he could sense that right away, but which side she was aligned with was hard to tell. He stood there, Sith yellow eyes unblinking as he watched her. It had been a long, long time since he had found anyone worth dealing with who was Force-sensitive. But something in the Dark Side whispered at him that she was important, that he should buy her. He decided to listen.]

Otherwise, likely Master - 6, or 2 (perhaps a gift from a planet/system/govt trying to win favor with the new Supreme Leader?). If playing her dark, possibly also Master - 1 or a variation of 4 (she wouldn't train for others, but would train/manipulate/break a toy for herself).

Potentially open to Slave rescue type scenarios with canonmates or established CR, particularly pre-Kylo (let's not pretend her family doesn't have a long list of enemies) or alternative temple tragedy situations (ie. Luke doesn't try to kill her, she resists Snoke's influence, and instead the Knights are sent after her). ]

Conner does not want to be here, but that isn't exactly a new sensation to him. He can count on one hand the number of times he actually wanted to be where he was in the last six months, probably -- and that might be an optimistic guess. He especially doesn't want to be here, though, and that radiating unhappiness comes through clearly in his sour expression and standoffish posture. He's a dark-clad raincloud in the back of the auction house, standing as opposed to joining the rest of the participants seated before the auctioneer.

It's been forty-five minutes, and he hasn't moved or said a single thing. He's only had eyes on one specific lot on the stage, and it doesn't seem like any of the others have been remotely tempting. When they finally put Blue up for bidding, Conner proves he is not, in fact, a statue.

One thousand.

A hand raised.

Fifteen hundred. Two thousand.

A hand raised.

At six thousand, eyebrows start to go up and heads turn in his direction. He doesn't even remotely acknowledge them. The woman he's bidding against begins to sweat, and just to fuck with her he lets her bid sit at going twice before he nods his head and says simply, "Oi."

Sold at seven thousand five hundred. He doesn't linger. They escort her from the stage and he goes to collect immediately, signing paperwork and paying with a black company credit card. This is how Blue finds herself cuffed in the back seat of a car, sans commentary from the man settling into the driver's seat.
