DRUNK STORY TELLING MEME



So, everybody has a story. And what better way to get a story going than when you're rip-roaring drunk? Well, congratulations, now you have an audience circling around you. Hope it's a good one... and that the inebriation doesn't get to you first.

How To Play
1) Post your character up. Specify whether you are the storyteller or a listener. Optional: provide a small list of tantalizing tales the character may want to talk about.
2) Reply to other people at the beginning, middle, or end of the story.
3) Go to random.org and roll from 1-11 to pick a scenario. Or do your own thing!
4) Let the magic begin!!


Scenarios

1 -- The Epic -- Not only is this story good, it is LEG...wait for it...ENDARY. Hope the build-up is worth it, because the audience looks pretty enthralled ... or ready to kill.

2 -- The Soap -- So this is the story how Alejandro met Jackalyn while you were trying to hook up with him, meanwhile Evan, Jackalyns' boyfriend got into a skiing accident when suddenly... From Jerry Springer to Days of Our Lives, your life would make for excellent TV.

3 -- The Drama -- Not only is this story sad, it's dramatic. With enough booze any outpouring of emotions is going to be that much more personal. So go ahead, bleed your heart out.

4 -- The Raging -- You mad? You got something you want to get off your chest? DID THAT KITTY JUST POOP IN YOUR SHOE. Now is your time to vent.

5 -- The Incomprehensible -- Uh-oh. Looks like you've had one too many. Maybe the story makes sense to you, because everybody else is hearing inane babble.

6 -- The Casanova -- Love is conquest. Love is war. Though some might not kiss and tell, that adage does NOT apply to you.

7 -- The Contradiction -- The worst part about telling a story? Telling the story in the presence of somebody that was there that didn't see things exactly the same way as you.

8 -- The Comedian -- Sight gags, puns, jokes, props, or zany behavior. You better hope the laughter is coming from the audience and not from you.

9 -- The Hecklers -- Nothing worse than a bad story, right? WELL IT'S HIGH TIME YOU TELL THEM, HUH.

10 -- The Filibuster -- Oh crap, the person isn't stopping. The bar's going to close soon. Did you have a tale you wanted to talk about? Better figure out something quick!

11 -- The Open Mic -- Go wild! Have some fun! Get a few laughs! Or roll again if you want.

So much for a quiet night at the bar, huh? In the few hours that he'd been there, Spike had already been forced to "deal" with two guys that had gotten a little hands on towards Mao, not that she was making it any better with her various stories about past relations.

And why did he even care? He didn't even know the girl. But it was like sitting in the car with someone and watching them drive straight towards a wall. You just can't help but take the wheel.

At this point, he'd officially just pulled up a chair next to her and put himself at the mercy of her storytelling, babysitting both the girl and a rum & coke as he shook off the haze of alcohol that threatened to grip him.

"Keep this up and you're gonna give a guy the wrong idea. ...Again."

The prince perched rigidly on a stool at the bar, his hands folded primly in his lap. This tavern was not anyplace he would have chosen to spend an evening, but somehow, he here was, dressed in royal attire that, even with how extravagant such clothing could be, still managed to particularly resemble a costume, and nursing a small glass of wine. He had needed to tuck his part of his cape onto his stool underneath him, after a few difficult moments where it was almost ripped off, and now he was merely trying to keep out of the way of the worst.

He had fought off an ancient enemy with all the grace and skill one would except of storybook royalty, but drunken townspeople were an entirely different matter. This had to be foolishness of some sort.

[Sheogorath walked over to the table, frothing mug in one hand and wooden staff in the other, and pushed back a chair with his staff, taking a seat. He took a long drink from his cup, then gave it an odd look.]

I say, this mortal brew tastes just like fermented fish eggs!

I would know! But that's quite a long story, nobody has the time for that.

If you want to hear about the forbidden love of Prince Aemon the Dragonknight, the heroic acts performed by Serwyn of the Mirror Shield, or the tragedy of the brothers Arryk and Erryk, she's your girl. She can even tell you about the five fleeting seconds when her own life seemed like a fairytale. (Ooh, Ser Loras, ooh!)

Alternately, if you're interested in mining the depths of a traumatized teenager's psyche, she can tell you all about the time her fiancé stuck her dad's head on a pike, made her look at it and then vowed to kill the rest of her family too. Fun times!]

If you get Thor drunk enough, he will start telling stories with only the slightest provocation on Luke's part.

Drunk enough is about one or two drinks. Sometimes it's enough just to get him into a situation where someone might drink.

Tale telling accompanies drinking, is the point, and, pint in hand, Luke is currently looking expectantly at Thor.
