On The Run Meme

Maybe something went wrong, or maybe it's just another normal day in your life, but you've found yourself on the run. Did you commit a crime, or cross the wrong person, or simply end up in the wrong place at the wrong time? Whatever the reason behind your situation is, your goal is the same: don't get caught.
 

How To Play

• Comment with your character, and if you're feeling ambitious put in a bit of a starter. Who are you running from and why?

• Respond to others, either as their partner on the run or part of the force chasing them.

• Have epic adventures, fall in love, utterly fail and get caught. See how it goes!
• RNG for some extra unpredictable fun.

Scenarios
1. Running from the cops. You broke the law, whether it was shoplifting or murder, and now you've got a warrant out for your arrest.
2. Attracted the wrong attention. You made someone angry, or obsessed, or otherwise drawn their ire and now they're after you.
3. Somewhere or somewhen. You've ended up in a place and/or time in which you're not welcome.
4. Wildcard!

Relationships
1. Friends (or more.) You've known each other for awhile and are on good terms, so hopefully you can rely on each other in this situation.
2. Circumstantial allies. Strangers, enemies, or otherwise you've ended up in this mess together, and it might benefit you both to cooperate.
3. Opposite sides. One of you is the runner, and the other is pursuing. Which will prevail?
4. Wildcard!

Complications
1. Late to the party. How many people did you piss off? In addition to whoever was already after you, someone else now is as well. Maybe they'll take each other out?
2. Confrontation. They've found you, and it's come down to a fight.
3. Disguise. You can't evade them, but you can hope they won't recognize you. Better be a good actor!
4. Wildcard!

[ voicetesting. hunnicutt's one of the prison guards who supervise a 1950s chain gang on the florida panhandle, second-highest in the road guard hierarchy and expected successor to the (almost) universally feared head guard. aloof and indifferent at his best, punctuated with frequent episodes of violence and, at worst, the occasional emergence of a sadistic streak. chase-style threads work best given his canon; i'm partial to confrontation/'cornered' situations, especially when the power dynamic is less dramatically in his favor, but am up for just about anything. ]

One does not simply escape from hell. And if you do, there will be consequences.

Kim Shin was aware there could possibly be repercussions for what he did but he had hoped the Yamas' ire would be directed at him, the source of the disruption and not the poor victim Meng Yao. Regardless of how things happened, he would be there to protect the man, his friend, and... His lover? They had become more and more close over the time they'd spent together after the incident in Diyu. A few shared moments together, brushes of lips and quivers of breath. There was truly something there.

But these days there were flashes of figures in the shadows, grim reapers trying to return the soul to its rightful place.

They would get a lot more than they would bargain for though in the form of an angry, disgruntled goblin that wasn't about to let anyone - not even grim reapers - take away his hard-earned prize that he'd fought for. "Never look them in the eyes," he'd cautioned Meng Yao, warning him that they could erase his memory and take him back to Diyu, forcing him to forget all about the goblin and his new life.

These days, they were less harassed by the reapers, having relocated farther away from their last known location where the reapers had located them in China. But still, Kim Shin kept his eye over his shoulder just in case anyone came to try to bother them again.

"I think I saw one of them," said the goblin with a sigh as he came back to Meng Yao's side, sitting next to him with a worried frown. "They may have found us, here."

(outlaw from fictionalized may - july 1899 america, who was raised to be a criminal by an abusive father since childhood — so running & living vagrantly is simply his lifestyle. can adapt him cautiously from 1890-ish to modern era. however, late 1800s is the hard preference.

really only works in america because he can't afford to leave the country. ;; not feeling romance at the minute, so other sorts of character relations are better for this.
