[ the season in japan is having their last scraps of cold before the upcoming spring where the cherry blossom trees will start to bloom and fill japan with life and color, among other types of flowers and greens. it's common knowledge that people go to the onsen by the mountains at this time of year, or some try to hit the best hotels for a little pampering or go into wild by renting wood cabins.

to souji finding the best places to eat or drink anything seasonal is a plan for the night he decides to go out for a long walk, a long walk that takes him far from where he intended to spend the necessary money, specifically ginza. should he risk a little sum of spare money to visit a bar with tasty food? with the best sake they could offer? and the female company is the least of his problems since there's plenty to choose from, yet he ends up in a gallery where ukiyo-e paintings are displayed, a time he often longed for and missed submerged in the modernity of an edo (now tokyo) that's long forgotten and only remembered by the imperial palace and outdated buildings and shrines.

regardless of his less than appropriate outfit (or not, who knows), he stares at a particular painting that's pulls a face out of him everytime till this day. ]

My, why is this still a thing?

[ The gallery wasn't her idea, she never has ideas when she's on the job, does she? Oh, no, she's an empty holster, ready to be filled with all her companion's input. Quite literally.

Usually, M. Bonfils doesn't send her outside his own circles, it's the only way to keep her under control, but Mr. Yamamoto is very rich and very influential - as well as very dedicated to his country. He wanted her to see a little of its splendor, as he'd told her when inviting her to come. And here she is.
