Not human? Not a problem!

First Meetings: Don't you know it's the tradition of their homeland to have a tryst after introductions.
Long Awaited: You've been involved for a while now, and the shoe's about to drop. You have to get physical at some point.
Putting It Off: ...don't you? Actually, you don't want them to see just what you've got going on, so you've been coming up with outlandish excuses not to have sex. That ends now.

Stranger in a Strange Land: You only have one ally in this new, weird place. Better make those bonds tight.

Difficulties: Okay, there's going to have to be some thought about the logistics here. It's not going to be an easy wham-bam-thank-you-m'am.
Modification: Maybe you can't do the classic penetration, but there are other ways to get off.
Power Up: There are interesting ways you can put abilities to use.
Hurt: You didn't mean to, but you hurt them physically.

[ Been wanting to write an AU where prolonged exposure to the Darksabre + following the Ancient Way leads to some kinda Force monster transformation on Din's end. I'm thinking of something along the lines of him caught between human and being a shadow creature/creature of darkness? Controlling shadow tendrils and accidental immortality and all? The transformation hurts and his powers manifest especially strongly when he experiences strong emotion (see: protectiveness/possessivess! Anger! Jealousy! Love!)... it's fine.

TL;DR Shadow creature Din Djarin monster transformation, I guess. OTA, including crosscanon and OCs. Very open to plotting or just jumping in. ]

[ Shadow creature transformation sounds kind of amazing, ngl, if my snakeman D&D OC would work for this. Rio's a former entertainer, got framed for a crime he didn't commit. Nice on the surface, struggles with 'reptile brain' pragmatism and coldness beneath the surface and secretly is learning to deal with the fact he has actual human emotions and cares about things even if his emotions don't translate outward in a convenient way. I'd love to plot if that interests you at all. ]

[ Oh BOY, I'm definitely good to plot! I don't know how feasible it'd be for a D&D setting, but if? Rio's??? Adventuring?????? It could be he comes across Mandalore as it's being rebuilt.

IDK how familiar you are with the Mandalorian, but Din's home was purged in canon, and what survivors made it out had to scatter and flee. I'd imagine them a bit wary about welcoming strangers into their?? Town??? City????? Kingdom??????? IDK HOW BIG THIS WOULD BE ATM but the point is, Rio could've been taken to the leader/king himself, Mr. Mand'alor Din Djarin? Something something Din lets him stay as long as Rio doesn't cause any trouble, and I imagine Mandalore being in the process of rebuilding aligns with how Rio's got a thing about "leaving a place better than it was when he arrived", and Din ends up checking up on Rio everyday because this stranger's technically his responsibility since he let him stay, Rio could notice something ~off about him (NAT20 ON THE PERCEPTION CHECK)...

BUT YEAH. That's what's at the top of my head so far? Please feel free to add/modify/subtract to any of this mess, hahaha. ]

[ I am canon familiar with the Mandalorian! I finished S2 last month. As for D&D, I figure it's just easier to AU Rio as a snake alien. It's pretty much the same thing, just without the corpse raising magic and the summoning lightning and whatnot.

I figure Rio could've come to Mandalore thinking 'ah, yeah, this place is going to be dead as hell, great place to hide out where no one will find me for a bit' and then 'oh no there are people here' so playing nice turns into him actually being helpful to have around/'oh no I actually kind of like it here'? And that kind of lines up nicely with your idea of Din keeping him around and checking on him all the time, though unfortunately Rio probably hits on him because his surface personality is like that (though if Din knows about snake people, he might just drop the act and be more genuine, idk). And Rio loves to pry/have as much knowledge as possible, so him figuring out something is wrong with Din feels right to me, too.

Does that all line up with what you're thinking / work with you? Anything specific you want to work in with the actual xenophilia prompts? ]

[ Yeah, this all works for me! And I guess Din's knowledge of snake folks depends on how well-known you want their species to be in this AU? I can adjust, and he'd have been horrid about understanding he's being hit on, anyway.

As for the actual prompts, UH. Since we've established some CR, I'm good with the idea that Rio's genuine helpfulness (and the virtue of spending too much time with him, lol) has Din having ~feelings as time passes. That or he just likes being around Rio and has quietly accepted it in true #ThisIsFine style. I figure we can go with either Din finally showing him what's "wrong" with him after Rio's suspected it a while, for a "coming out with the truth" scenario? Maybe because of wanting to take it to the next level? Ask him to stay? Ask him to be Clan? Something absurd like that.

Or perhaps Rio's known a while, and has been helping Din adjust to things like the new sensory overload, or he watches over him when he has to leave the city and let the dark explode out of him after holding it in, or he's been training with him to help him control the shadowstuff...??

TL;DR I figure we're doing 5 on Rio's end in gen, and we can do 2, 3, 8, 9... 21 if you want Din accidentally hurting him with his inexperience, 27 for a similar-ish thing except Din's like whyyyy the fuck do my shadow tentacles keep touching him (your powers are manifesting your inner desires, fool!!)... I dunno, I'm open to anything that ends in a positive experience.

[ Ahh, hmm. Let's say he knows about serpentfolk? That way, Rio doesn't have to be fake all the time, just around people who aren't Din. And everyone can be proud of him for fighting his biological imperative to be an evil person.

Out of all those scenarios (which are really good, all of them) I think I would prefer A) a variation on "Din showing Rio what's wrong with him" which is just Rio telling Din to show him what's wrong with him or B) a variation on "Rio watches over Din when he leaves town" only maybe he thinks he can hold it in since Rio keeps him calm, but it gets out anyways? Basically, a confrontation or an accident would sound fun to me. ~~I do also shamelessly like the idea of Rio being asked to stay or become Clan, that's cute.~~

5 is great, 2 and 3 seem natural, 8 and 9 are definitely going to happen on Rio's end sorry??? you're his bro and he wants to see your shadow dick, 21 is absolutely encouraged, 27 I'd be fine with on either of their ends or both. I can also play Rio as xeno genitalia himself, but we can cross that bridge when it actually comes up depending.

One thing I did realize is that in his own universe, a lot of his 'arc' is tied up in finding himself hideous (he was very human-ish at the start of his campaign and got slowly body-horrored into being unable to pass as human) and I can't really remove that from his personality anymore. So in AUing him to an alien, I'm going to keep the part of his backstory where he didn't know he was a snake alien and just...hit some weird snake puberty at 25 and misses being handsome. I hope that works. ]

[ sorry for the delay in getting to this!!!!!!! re: the snake puberty thing, totally fine with me. it'll be a nice parallel (sorta?) to din's discomfort with what the hell is happening to him, hahaha.

AND i think between A and B, i'm leaning towards B for the thread? we can go with Rio already being aware of the nonsense that's happening to Din, but probably this is the first time it's manifested to this strong a degree... hence an inadvertent accident leading to confrontation? i like to think that if he holds it in too long the Force devours him, so that'll be Nice.

whether you want it to coincide with the heat cycle and it becomes a fuck or die thing (and maybe din's rut triggers rio's?) i'm also!! really open!!!!

[ It's no worries! And I only brought that up because it might come up in introspection/I've never written him without the 'oh man I used to be pretty' part of his personality, I doubt it'll end up being a focus or anything.

B sounds perfect for me. that sounds very Nice, actually, even if it will make Rio very Tired for someone who claims to have no emotions. that it will all become a disaster is all the better, tbh. bring it on.

[ Holding the Darksabre can anchor the energy that builds in him, but only to a certain degree, and after five hard days working on a rescue mission to liberate a covert on a Mid-Rim planet to bring them home, the adrenaline and excitement and violence had made the powers in Din so restless it feels like his skin's on fire.

The council meeting post-assignment had nearly burned him through, his leg bouncing under the table and his fist clenching and unclenching the whole time. The walk to his home had been even worse, noise building in his head and an itch in his gums and a sharp pain blooming just by his shoulder blades. Din had almost considered burying himself under the covers and hoping it'd go away, but had also known that was a poor idea-- whatever Jedi sorcery's consumed him, it's never felt this bad before, and if it never went away before, it certainly won't now.

Which is why he finds himself in front of the dwelling that Rio lives in, instead, the hour late enough that no-one else is outdoors. This is a relief, too-- whenever Rio hears the stunted bangs of Din's fist against the door and opens it, he'll see him with his hand leaning against the wall to hold him up. Behind him, lit up by the moonlight, Din's shadow is grown and trembling, and darkness like thick smoke oozes from his wrists beneath his vambraces, caught somewhere between gas and thick liquid.

The words leave him from between grit teeth: ] I need you to drive for me. [ As he speaks, the ends of the Dark coming from his hands quiver. They reach briefly in Rio's direction before clenched fists cause them to recede and linger in place instead.

From behind him, his landspeeder is parked, albeit crookedly. With how much of an effort goes into simply holding him up, Din's definitely in no state to drive it. ]

I have to leave the city.
