4. Something More Exciting: This is for thrill-seekers. Here you'll find the Tilt-a-Whirl, the Gravitron, the Screamin' Swing--all the rides designed to make you lose your lunch. Hope you didn't have too much cotton candy beforehand!

5. Freakshow: Do they really have a bearded lady in that tent? It's time to find out. Buy a ticket and see the greatest oddities the world has to offer.
Hard Mode: one of you actually is the oddity being gawked at by the other. How does that make you feel?

6. Tunnel of Love: Or perhaps tunnel of mild boredom. The red-tinted lights and quasi-romantic music are meant to make this ride a great makeout spot, if the chemistry is there.

7. Hall of Mirrors: You and your partner entered, thinking it would be easy to get out again, but dead ends abound in this wacky mirror-maze, and each mirror seems to show a more and more distorted image of each of you.

8. Fortune Teller: Whether one of the creepy machines or the even creepier women dressed up in a culturally insensitive costume, you cross someone's palms with silver and get your future told. Will it be happiness forever with your partner, or will ill tidings be bound your way?

[ This... this had to be a bad joke and he was waiting for a punchline somewhere. The longer things hung, the more annoyed he got that this joke was lingering. Everything about this place was ridiculous. From the tacky music to the dumb creatures posed to be kissing. He couldn't understand what anyone would find romantic about this place.

He lets out a sigh as he rests his chin on his upturned hand and glares at the "geese" that are flirting to the side. ]

Remind me again, why are we here? [ There is no way he's hiding the annoyance in his voice in this situation. ]

Molly couldn't even remember the last time that she'd gone to a carnival. When she'd brought it up with Holden, she'd been expecting him to turn down the idea. She did wonder sometimes if the man was allergic to fun. So when he'd seemed eager to accept her offer, she'd been a little surprised. Ecstatic, but surprised. What had not surprised her though was the fact that he was wearing his suit.

How she'd managed to get him to take an actual Saturday off to do this was besides her, but she wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Instead, she'd been waiting on her doorstep, wearing a ruffled sundress and chunky platformed sandals that were laced up her legs. It was a good outfit for a summer day and though it had been warm during the day, the evening had brought with it a nice breeze.

They'd done several of the activities and she'd worked hard on making sure that work conversation was kept to a minimum. They'd been assisting with a case recently and she knew that he was in need of a break, even if he wasn't aware of how badly he needed a break. Luckily, she truly enjoyed conversing about psychology, so even when they slipped into the topic, it was still in a way that didn't feel like being in the office.

Mostly though, they seemed to be finding ways to just have fun. Now as the lights were starting to come on, the carnival felt like it was more fully coming to life and Molly felt like she too was full of life in a way she hadn't been in a long time. These days she felt like that every time she was in his presence though. Even though they'd been there for a couple of hours, there was still a lot to do and see. It was a huge agricultural carnival, full of a little bit of everything, and she intended to see and do it all with him until the lights closed down for the night.

They had just gotten off of the swings, and her feet were a little wobbly underneath her. It was a great excuse to grab his arm to steady herself. "Okay, just hold me until the the world stops spinning. I'm afraid I'm not the best at keeping my equilibrium, though...that was so very worth it."

[Hey, every so often a lady gotta get out sometimes, even though she might look like one of the carnival performers in all her finery. (Or she could be going out in modern clothes for a dare. You never know. Open to all prompts.]

[ Feda might mostly bully Aramat to let him put things in her butt, but he's gotten quite fond of the older woman. So bullying her into coming with him to the carnival was possibly a surprise, but who knows how unwelcome it is. He's proved to be a little protective in fact, keeping one of his massively muscular arms around her shoulder or waist for any time he doesn't need two hands. It's to keep her close as much as it is to broadcast to everyone that she's with him, which is absolutely a flex on every other teenager around. ]

[ He reads the fortune the machine printed out, the cackling robotic woman in the booth seeming to find that incredibly funny. Feda on the other hand seems to think deeply on the bit of paper, before showing it to Aramat to confirm that's what it actually says. ]

((It's a carnival and she's a Stranger, what more can you say?

Though she isn't much of the clown-and-carnival class of Stranger, she still knows her way around one, given the current big name favourites of her entity. (She of course has opinions on that too, if anyone wants the fear monster gossip.)

Can take place in the full on Stranger Horror apocalypse carnival of terror and weirdness, or just an ordinary one she's "working" in, officially or just visiting recreationally. I can put her pretty much anywhere in a carnival on either side of the booth, so state your preference if you want an ordinary time or a setting that's absolutely cursed.

Can be Magnus Archives canon compliant or your preferred brand of cursed carnival/AU setting, I'm not picky and April's supernatural purpose is to fill whatever empty position assigned to her. 👍))

Meanwhile in the Hall of Mirrors....

[The Hall of Mirrors is either Evie's greatest dream or worst nightmare, and very likely a little of both. Her curiosity's gotten the better of her, and she steps inside, eyes alight, despite the music that's as warped as the first looking glass she encounters.

As she moves further in, giggling at the different distortions she sees in each mirror, she starts to notice a shape behind her in some of the mirrors. When she turns, however, she can't see anyone. Weird. She isn't worried, exactly. But the figure starts popping up more and more often, seeming to get closer as she moves. The usually cheerful songs take on a darker tone in minor keys, meant by the carnival to set a certain mood. And it sets her on edge. The odd lighting doesn't help, either. She loses track of where she is while trying to keep track of the figure in the mirror.]

[ His Master had agreed on letting him explore the city under the condition that he do so supervised and wearing clothes that wouldn't make him stick out like a sore thumb. Granted, he still stands out; there's no helping that with his sort of presence, especially in a nation like Japan. At least, in the t-shirt and slacks Nanami provided him, he's more palatable as someone now existing in a modern society. Although, the pants are a little tight. Tight enough that he complains about it from time to time as the two venture out to explore the streets of Tokyo.

The world is much different than what Achilles remembers civilization to be. People exist with fewer worries, leisurely enjoying luxuries most wouldn't even be able to dream of during the age of Gods.

It's the bright lights and music that catch his attention as they pass by an area closed off by gates. Past them, he can see tall structures that he recognizes by the power of the Throne instilling him with modern-day knowledge. But... that doesn't mean he knows how they exactly work. So, before Nanami can walk ahead, he's reaching out to sling an arm around his shoulders and reel him right back to his side. ]

Hey, Master. What's going on over there? It looks interesting. Can we go?
