Ah, rain—the precipitation that the whole world has a love/hate affair with. It waters the garden for free and ruins baseball games. It cools you off in the summer and it causes more ice and sleet to appear in the winter. Sometimes it is lovely and falls at a decent pace for a few hours, other times, it blasts the whole eastern seaboard away.



Poems and songs have been written about it, people have danced in it, others have cursed its entire existence, and still more refuse to go out and drive in it.



Now it’s time to roll some dice and see what the weather will have in store for you today.

01. Drizzle | It’s not too heavy or too light of a downpour, just enough to wash away stuff in the air, water the ground, and clean up the streets.



02. Shower | Reminds you of early spring, doesn’t it? A nice shower to make everything all green and smell fresh again. Lovely.



03. Cats & Dogs | You’re lucky with this one. It’s not the worst storm in the world, but it’s still pretty heavy.



04. Monsoon | It’s horrible and awful! Rain is coming down in buckets, no one can get anywhere, the wind is whipping everything about, and now the cable is out.

03. Grey Rain of Depression | We all know this one. Stuck in the middle of no where, or right after an argument, or something that leads to angst, the rain decides to express someone’s feelings in a physical form, serious or over the top.

06. Sudden Storm | It might have been predicted, but sometimes storms just sweep in and do their thing with little to no warning. Hope you’re not outside.



07. Thunder & Lightning | Loud, surprising, scary, ominous, comforting, fantastic to watch or listen to… some like thunder and lightning, others not so much. Of course, if this happens before a big confrontation, the universe is telling you something.



08. Can't Get Worse | You did not say that. You did not just say that. How many times does this need to be seen in movies and books before anyone learns?



09. Stuck | No, no, no, no. This cannot be happening. What happened to the ten percent chance of rain? You forgot your umbrella and now you’re stuck in it!



10. Ruined Plans | You had all these wonderful plans to go outside, have some fun in the sunshine, do some errands, maybe a date… and the weather goes against them.



11. Dancing | Sometimes rain is a cause for celebration, or you just feel like doing something spontaneous. Grab someone to join you and get wet!



12. Rain Battle | The most intense, important battles happen in the rain. Verbal spars, punching someone in the guts; it’s all dramatic and climatic. And no one slips.



13. Date | Aww, don’t let the weather ruin your date! It can be really romantic, being out in the rain, and it’s always fun to go with the flow.



14. A Day Inside | Sometimes, it’s just better to stay inside and enjoy something simple and easy like board games or catching up on TV shows, or maybe the bills.

[ The forecast had promised a storm, no less than the sky had, hanging heavier and darker by the minute. Nanami had eyed the purpling sky with grim resignation as they walked from the station to the curse's location, a small park. He'd known, conviction to the very marrow, that it would begin to rain while they exorcised it, rendering the umbrella he'd brought useless. It didn't, doesn't really merit complaint: the world works like this. Sometimes it rains, more or less frequently. Sometimes curses form, more or less frequently. Always, sorcerers must exorcise them. And curses wouldn't politely wait for more pleasant weather.

That doesn't mean he was looking forward to being right.

As expected, the sky opened while they fought. But the rain didn't simply fall, didn't simply pour, but seemed to upend buckets over their heads. Rising winds and the thick rain tore cherry blossoms from the trees, and though it had been relatively straight forward to that point -- a second grade, and just barely -- there'd been an embarrassing moment where his heel slid on a mess of soaked petals and he went skidding right into a blow, which might have been worse without Haibara's intervention.

As it is, he's only a little banged up and it hadn't taken that long. But the rain hasn't let up, and though they're already drenched, he reclaims the umbrella left hooked on the park fence, pops it open -- and promptly loses a second battle. Against the wind. Nanami is left to watch as this far more capable foe sweeps his umbrella up, lodges it into a tree's branches. ]

It had started out as little more than a heavy mist, the kind that wasn't really fog because the droplets were too big for that, but at the same time wasn't actually rain because they were hanging suspended in midair due to the difference in the heat from the ground and the chill in the air.

But then the wind had shifted and what had been a mist had soon become a gentle shower, though there were darker, roiling storm clouds on the horizon, flickering lightning within their depths but none of it touching ground, not yet, and that's what they were waiting for, not just because Din was there after a fulgurite or two, and why he needed one at all was the usual string of favors owed that he found himself tangled in. But for once, he didn't mind.

He'd brought Cobb along mostly because it would be easier to unearth the things with two people, but also because he knew Cobb hadn't ever been off-planet and in Din's opinion that was a tragedy. There was also the fact that the planetoid was close enough to Tatooine that he could promise Issa-Or to have the Marshall back in three days at the most and would absolutely bring him back in one piece.

The village had not been large, or important. None of the villages he's directed raids on in the last few months have been; in the end promises whispered are just as effective as promises yelled. We are here, murmurs the settling rubble that had once been homes. There is no stopping us, hiss the crackle of flames that shatter windows and swallow fields whole.

I am coming for you: this is the silence of a town abandoned.

Ganondorf knew she would come to see for herself eventually if he took care; sweep through the land like a plague and forces would be mustered, the princess would be locked in a golden cage at the hands of well-meaning advisors. But make himself a whisper, and wait? And now.

The still-falling rain has long put out the flames that ate the village and chased the people from their lives and into the hands of the waiting darkness. It drenches everything, turned the ground into trampled mud, black ash caking in thick streaks while blood skirls in small eddies trying to find the lowest ground. Ganondorf sits beneath the trees at the edge of the forest, long yards from the destruction, completely still aside from the fat drops of water that press through the thick canopy to droop his hood and his mount's dark mane. The princess is a golden presence that his eyes follow through the brown and gray of the ruined remains, her white horse smeared and dirty in comparison to the bright hair that tumbles from her cloak. Ganondorf's pulse picks up at her nearness but still he doesn't move. The magic in his veins licks at his nerves but he controls it.

Will she know he's here? Has she unpicked the whispers and found a living man at the center of them? Thunder rolls across the dark morning sky and the leather of his gloves sigh as Ganondorf tightens his fists around his reins.

This isn't a parlay-- such things have never been in his vocabulary-- but nor is it an attack any longer; his band is gone with their prizes, their appetites sated for the time being. All that is left at this moment for Ganondorf is curiosity. This close, unwarded, Zelda is a beacon.]
