You have no idea who you are.

One day, you just woke up from the darkness, confused and alone. You barely remember your own name, much less why you're here...or where here is, even. Your own body is strange to you, and if you have some kind of power or ability, that must be frightening. Perhaps you're angry at everything so new and different, lost in this strange world you don't understand or know your own place in. Maybe you feel the need to hide away, lest you be crushed by everyone out there who is sure to hurt you.

You are so, so alone.

Only you're not. There is one person, one person who's found you and taken you in. They've shown you kindness, looking after you while you can barely look out for yourself. Out of the goodness of their heart, they've shown you things, taught you things. Most importantly, they're giving you a new sense of identity. And for that, you've begun to appreciate them. More than words can say, actually. You care for them so deeply that your heart hurts around them. Is that normal? What is this feeling? You can't imagine life without them, and leaving them- That's something you could never consider. Is this lov...

The word's on the tip of your tongue, but you can't figure it out, exactly. What you can figure out is that you want to give everything you can to the person who's done so much for them. You want to stay by their side and make them happy. You want to protect them at all costs.

So no one would blame you for getting confused when you see them with someone else or getting angry when you believe they're in danger. And certainly it's only natural for you to get frustrated when you want to tell them what you think of them, what they mean to you, and you can't figure out what to do. Perhaps following instincts will do?

One thing you know is that this bond and these emotions will never go away, not even when you learn who you are.

- This meme is for examining what happens when someone with no memories, potentially someone with powers or skills that could be dangerous at the very least, develops deep feelings for the person who's taken them in or is helping them realize their past. It can be played as awkward, adventurous, tragic, cracky, fluffy, truly romantic, or anything in between. You can play at the beginning, the part where emotions have strongly developed, or even when the amnesiac has regained their memories and must now deal with new feelings.
- Reply with your character and preferences. Mention if you'd like to play the amnesiac, the caretaker/help, or both.
- The role of caretaker does not have to always be beneficial. Maybe they caused this condition in the first place so the other character would be dependent, loving, and loyal towards them.
- Reply to others and play.

Sometimes cases take Lucas to the far-flung reaches of America, in the weird and wild nooks and crannies where the line between the natural and supernatural is hard to find. The mountains are always one such place, especially those of the Appalachia. Plenty of ground that even moderns humans have left untouched and unspoiled. Tucked away in these woods sits a disheveled and long abandoned wood cabin, bedecked with graffiti and symbols that carry unknown meaning behind them. Lucas has come here on his free time, to investigate what he thinks is a quaint little mystery, an excuse to hike into the wilderness and enjoy nature.

That reason is long forgotten, lost to the moments when his reading ability goes completely off the rails. Whatever is here it's a depth and power he's not anticipated, leaving him unconscious on the front stoop of the cabin. A hard reset that wipes the slate clean. The shallow rise and fall of his chest and freshly bloodied nose are the only outward signs of life.

Jane had been working on reconciling what Thor had shared with her when she almost crashed into someone again. In her defense, it was a random and sudden event in the middle of the day—how was she supposed to avoid something that came out of the blue? Literally?

Bart was officially the second person in Jane’s life to appear in lightning and in the middle of the desert. She hoped that it would not happen a third time, because that meant a pattern, and her understanding of the universe had already been rocked a few times. However, unlike Thor, Bart knew precious little about himself. He recognized more landmarks and aspects of history than his own preferences or anything that told them where he was from.

“Okay, so, run this by me again?” Jane asked, a star chart between the two of them. It had only been a day since she had hit him, and the events were playing out much like they had with Thor: a panicked trip to the ER, nothing found wrong, and heading back to the lab to scratch their heads and figure out, what the hell?

There was no doubt that Bart was brilliant. He was not insane and Jane was not inclined to think as such, much like before. But some of the stuff he wrote and said astounded her. He was young, and yet, he spoke like an expert in physics, astronomy, and more. But … certain details were adding up to something strange. Jane had her suspicions, but she needed to ask a few questions before she could actually confirm anything.

[What had started as a fairly successful day of exploration and study had quickly turned into a much more solemn evening after Aether's fall and apparent memory loss. Albedo can't help but feel responsible for the injury, as he had been the reason that the traveler was even climbing such a precarious ledge in the first place. While with the use of his solar isotomas he had been able to assist the other somewhat he had only been able to lift him so high before climbing had been required, but his predictions about the sturdiness of the rock were sorely incorrect.

Fortunately they weren't far from camp so it had been fairly easy to get Aether back before the cold of night truly sunk in.

He kneels at the small cot set up in his camp where he helped Aether after the fall, offering a small teacup filled with a steaming, bitter-smelling drink.]

Here, this tea should help... In theory.

[Of course while he would never give the traveler anything harmful and all the ingredients of the "tea" should hypothetically aid in making him feel better the alchemist has never actually had anyone drink it. Granted he's also never dealt with amnesia- let alone tried to treat it- so the most he can do for now is hope. If all else fails perhaps being in familiar surroundings will stir up some memories before too long. Some small part of Albedo also hopes that his own presence will help, but... Perhaps that's too much to ask for.]
