welcome to the dark carnival

You'll find yourself amidst a sprawling cityscape with a carnival at its center. The lights and booming sounds of people and attractions draw you near. There is no other place you'd rather be as if your soul and mind and body all deem it of utter importance to be at this place. The Sol de Carnivale welcomes you through its gates. It's free admission tonight, or perhaps not, because you pay with a large price! But don't let that worry you those price negotiations can wait. Check out all the fun attractions and rides you can participate in:
1) Haunted House: Just as it says the Carnival's main and most well known attraction! The haunted house offers eerily real close encounters of paranormal kind. Sometimes people can't even remember if the person they went in with has ever come out. Not to worry though! If you stick together you're more than likely to come out alive!
2) Hall of Mirrors: See every side to a person's being. You can't escape what the mirrors see. Eyes are like windows to the soul after all.
3) Tunnel of Love: The person you've gone in with might just start feeling like...well, you might just be meant for them! Never mind the fog or pinkish smoke that envelopes you on the way through. There's no traces of pheromones or anything like that in it at all. Go on give them a kiss and perhaps...something more. Are those private rooms at the end of it? How very convenient! The Carnival always meets people's needs after all.
4) Freak show: Medical and supernatural mysteries gone haywire. Here you'll find the infamous Lizard man with his scaled skin and flickering tongue. And then there's the demon, with his curled goat horns, reddish eyes and long onyx tail. He has a temper to boot. Maybe even a man who isn't even a man. Don't stay for too long though otherwise you might just start feeling a horn or tail grow.
5) De'Mortin's Maze: The sprawling living maze is said to be the greatest one in the city. Only one man has ever made it out to the other side. De'Mortin. Hence the naming it after the famous man. The end might just lead to your salvation from the Carnival of no escape. Or perhaps on the other side there is nothing. Do you take you chances, or, do you continue about your way?
6) Ishuragi: In a tent somewhere off from the rest of the bustling carnival is the famed tree of souls. No one knows what it is exactly but its old gnarled trunk and branches glisten and gleam in the sun and moonlight, almost like blood. It's black with white glowing leaves perhaps there's something significant about it? It's said here that the carnival master collects the souls of the people who come into his carnival. Legend has it that one can hear the souls of the deceased. One's own loved ones and even hated enemies, whispering and retelling moments from the past. And its said when you awaken the next day after visiting the tree there's a brand on your shoulder, chest or arm, marking you for the reaping. No need to be alarmed, not as though anyone will believe you anyway.
7) Midnight Masquerade: The ball takes place every night once the Carnival has closed down for the evening. You might find yourself transposed to another location and two figures, the king and queen greet you and ask you to partake in the nightly masquerade ball. As if you have a choice. The king's aids will direct you to a selection of mask of your choosing.
a) The Duality mask. It gives the wear's darker nature a chance to surface.
b) Forest mask. As it states you'll be able to communicate and control plants. For what purposes...well that's up to you to decide.
c) Incubi/Succubi mask. A sensual mask that gives the wearer...intriguing body modifications. Is that a tail? They also work in tandem with carnival stealing souls for the master of this realm.
d) Jester mask. A fool is a fool is a fool. A simple mask which makes the wearer less than bright. But no less deadly either. A master of trickery or simply someone who believes it?
e) Light mask. Keepers of peace. Those who wear this mask might see it fit to attack those wearing the Shadow mask. With a profound sense of justice and righteousness they seek those whose souls and pasts are tainted. They may use and create light to repel and keep back the overbearing shadows.
f) Shadow mask. Keepers of the night and chaos. Those who wear this mask might see it fit to attack those wearing the Light mask. With lack of care for those around them the shadow mask wielders give into their inner demons. They many conjure up and use the shadows to their advantage.
g) Make up your own mask and powers!
8) Make up something else! If there's nothing listed you'd like to do a free for all selection is available~ (For both the Carnival part and the Masquerade part)
