Ashe sat back on her hands near the fire and gazed up at the night sky. She was always so focused on what was right before her that she rarely gazed up at the roof of twinkling lights above her head. But tonight was quiet and calm — a rare chance at peace in this chaotic life — and she found herself picking out the constellations surrounding them.

"There's the big ol' bear," she announced, jutting her chin towards it. "Ursa Major."

[Tonight was the night of the meteor shower viewing and Hiro had asked Ann out to come see it with him. He hoping that she wasn't too busy, but it looked like she had some free time! Quietly, he counted his blessings for this to happen! There were a lot of people sitting down on the hill where they were waiting for the event to happen. Hiro had bought a blanket and a picnic basket for the both of them if they got hungry. Thankfully, it wasn't too crowded for them to not have some space to themselves.

Ever since he was a kid, Hiro has always had a fascination with the stars. The starry sky was always so comforting to look at it. He has an absent-minded look on his face before he blurts out the first thing that comes to his mind.]

Hey, Ann... You ever wanted to meet an alien before? Personally, I've always wanted to become friends with one.

[ The stars bloom in the night sky into forever; some are brighter than others and some are just a blur of light in the infinite distance above. There are places where the inky blackness looks to be blue or purple with eyes that play faint tricks on you. Velvet layered over the canvas of the sky, both stretched and bundled with the moon full and so bright that it gives off a golden hue, blurring the circle around itself and brightening the evening as a whole all the more visibly.

Jill nudges at the campfire, throwing another log onto the pyre and nudging it about with her hand cautiously before it sparks too great and she has to use a long stick to properly place it. It's a wonderful evening to be with someone you love, however it might be done. With beers and hot dogs or champagne and cake, either felt right in this moment. It's rare in what it is, but certainly the company adds to the ambiance rather than detracts.

She stands before the bonfire rather than takes a seat for now, warming the damp feeling she'd had earlier from the cold. It soaks into her bones, making her joints comfortable. From training, not age (she hopes). Turning toward her companion, she grins brightly with the sort of smile that happens rarely from her, fingers still held above the flames. ]
