[ When Noct has the choice--which really comes down to having the gil--he's happiest spending the night somewhere like the Quayside Cradle, where he has his own plush, cozy bed to spread out in for a full night's sleep. But being on the road has honed his ability to sleep anywhere, through Gladio's snoring and Prompto's sleep-talking, on squeaky motel mattresses and in damp sleeping bags when they get caught in the rain.

So tonight's not the worst sleeping arrangement. The only rooms available were two queens, so Noct and Ignis have one room while Prom and Gladio are next door. They've been hunting since sunrise, and Ignis gently suggests a shower as he slides the key into the lock, but Noct can barely keep his eyes open long enough to strip down to his t-shirt and boxers and collapse onto the mattress. He's half-asleep as Ignis pads into the bathroom, and dozing when the water starts running.

Noct has zero compunctions about taking up room in a bed. Gladio's given him shit for what a bed-hog he is on more than one occasion, but he's not usually a cuddler. It might be because the air conditioning's on a little high, and the comforter's tugged toward Ignis's side of the bed, but once Ignis climbs into it there's barely a moment for him to settle before Noct subconsciously recognizes warmth and burrows right into his space, an arm looping around Ignis's waist, cold feet dragging up the backs of his calves.

He's faintly aware that Ignis smells like soap, and his lips brush his throat as he nuzzles into the crook of his neck, letting go of a soft exhale. Noct's too sleepy to think about whether this is loaded or weird or not--it just feels nice. ]

It was pure chance, but also it's been building up for a while. Xingchen isn't sure what ended up urging him to finally reach for his soulmate, hand on his wrist and lean up to press their lips together.

But once he's done it...he doesn't want to pull away. Such a light contact, but it fills him with warmth and hope.

[ It's been a long night. A very enjoyable one, as expected it would be for the surprise birthday party Yuuri and his family threw for Viktor, but still a long one. It all was worth it. Yuuri is especially adamant on keeping his birthday separate from it also being Christmas Day, which is in ways why the party and celebration was held several days prior.

It's also more fun this way, as it still does give them Christmas— plus New Year's Eve and Day by extension, because why not.

With everyone else having either departed or retired to their respective rooms for the night, Yuuri and Viktor naturally follow suit. There's a level of nostalgia with how it's the same room as when Viktor very initially stayed at the onsen.

The door is shut behind them before Yuuri turns to face him, both arms moving to loosely wrap around Viktor's neck. Alcohol was a thing tonight, but at least he's only pleasantly warm, and not overly buzzed. ]

Happy birthday, Viktor.
