All Things Christmas

Christmas Time Is Here
1] Christmas Wrapping - Presents need to be under the tree ASAP but they've yet to be wrapped! Or do you like to put things in bags and throw tissues on and be done? Either way, here's your supplies!
2] Christmas Cookies - Baking of any sort, really. It's time to make some desserts that folks are going to either rant and rave about at gatherings all of next year or you're going to be banished to the "NEVER BAKE AGAIN" corner. Fudge, pies, cookies, cakes, jello salads, puddings, fudge, and brownies. What have we got?
3] Christmas Carols - It's time to go a caroling! Bundle up in your winter best and warmest and warm up your voice as you head to a house to spread Christmas joy! Maybe it's afterward and you're warming up with hot chocolate and soothing your throat.
4] Christmas Decor - Outside? Inside? The tree perhaps or decking the halls? Maybe you're setting up a Christmas village under the tree. Making decorations for your tree in the traditional sense?? Popcorn on a string anyone?
5] Christmas Party - The Christmas music is thumping, the lights are a twinkling, the presents are under the tree and food is on the table. Your party is all set, the punch is maybe spiked, so let's party hard!
6] Christmas Shopping - Shopping for your loved ones is sometimes impossible. What if you're shopping with them in tow? Is it any easier getting their opinions while looking at their possible gift? Are they trying to purchase your gift as well?
7] Other Winter Holidays - Not to clump them together, but I don't want to stereotype the traditions I'm not familiar with! So whether your character celebrates the Solstice/Yule, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or any other winter holiday I'm missing, find a way to enjoy it!
8] HAVE YOUR MISTLETOE - You've wrangled the one you've been eyeing all night long under this parasitic plant. Time to plant one on them while under it. Do they consent to the kissing? If they don't, maybe settle on a handshake! And try not to hit the eggnog too hard if you get rejected...
9] BAH-HUMBUG - Maybe you don't enjoy the festive time of year! Maybe you don't celebrate? You might not have a specific reason why, but it doesn't mean you can't enjoy the snow, the shopping deals and meals.
10] SNOW SNOW SNOW - We're out in the snow, making a snowman. Or snow forts! Or igloos! Maybe you're making an ice sculpture for some kind of contest! Or is it a snowball fight??? Ice skating out on a natural lake or an artificial rink?
11] U G L Y S W E A T E R - Are you going for a theme? The ugliest? The noisiest? The brightest? The most off-Christmas ugly Christmas sweater? Maybe it's a homemade sweater handed down for generations? Let's see your sweater!
12] Wildcard - Decorating gingerbread houses? Hunting down your perfect Christmas tree? Settling down in front of the TV for your favorite Hallmark (or other seasonally appropriate) movie? Are you being someone's Santa and delivering presents?? In costume??? Things that aren't covered above go here, or any other holiday things! Maybe even your character doesn't know what Christmas is! In that case, enjoy the learning experience!!

In retrospect, how Felix didn't see the tall and imposing Zora prince hard at work by the oven is beyond even him. He tells himself it may have been a case of him keeping his head down and his eyes away from everyone to have really noticed but that would have been an outright lie... Even amongst others of his kind, Sidon stands out. Especially to Felix.
In any case...when he smells the baked goods then sees Sidon, he springs into step and makes his way over to that corner of the marketplace. Felix comes to a stop just before the bakery stand, head tilting curiously at the display, his expression is, hopefully, cool and passive.]
...never knew you were some sort of baker.
[The tiniest grin works its way across his mouth, and he shifts the bundle from one arm to the other.]
Or are you just winging it in the hopes no one will notice?
no subject
Ah, the baker needed help. He has so many ideas and so many orders, you know. It is that time of year.
[He looked to his batch of cookies, which looked serviceable. Most definitely. It was like a student who was proud of getting good marks in school. Now he was kneading some chocolate dough under his large hands.]
I do not think these are too shabby! Do you think? The baker says I could work for him any time, green as I am!
no subject
[Of course, Felix is just teasing. More than a bit amused at the idea of someone like Sidon hard at work mixing and kneading cookies to be baked. He smirks a little and regards the batch of cookies on the table. They look 'serviceable' and while Felix isn't exactly salivating at the thought of them, he is more curious about them than he otherwise would be.]
They look decent enough. I wouldn't quit your day-job if I were you, but...
[Still teasing.]
How much are they?
no subject
[Sidon obviously didn't take his words into real offense, the smile was too evident in his face.]
Five rupees for a half dozen, seven for a full. We are making so many because they are selling like hot cakes, as they say! And they are fresh, with more to come! So you are in luck today if you wish to support this delightful local spot!
[His grin was wide and bright, he would make a lovely sincere face of a company, surely. The face was even covered in flour in some spots. See, asking a prince to do work wasn't so bad! Unless if time was dwindling.]
In all seriousness, Felix, he needed a hand over here but I promise we shall have our own merriment soon. I just could not leave this man with short hands.
[Was that how the saying went? Whichever, he started to ready the chocolate dough for its proofing by placing it in a large bowl next to him.]
His sous chef had to go home to his family, so he let him. He was managing this all by himself. I could not abandon a man trying so hard to bring so much joy.

[Remembering Hyrule's currency denominations -- green one, blue five, red twenty -- and then deciding to just forget it altogether, Felix digs around in one of his pouches, blindly, and takes out a fistful of rupees. Without counting them, he dumps the coins onto the table in front of Sidon.]
I have no need for these anymore, so...here. Give them to the baker or whatever.
[He may be a little red in the face but it's a little cool up here in the Domain, so he'll blame it on that and not on, you know, how endearing Sidon appears there, standing and baking so proudly (and for his people) despite how big he is. Ugh!
He watches Sidon work for a bit, before looking around at all of the other treats lined up.]
...you're going to do all of this by yourself?
no subject
That is a lot. You are sure, yes?
[He didn't want to intrude, surely Felix knew how much he had thrown on the table? The baker would surely benefit but-. Ah.]
It is just us back here, but this here can really help the baker so much if you mean it.
sorry for the delay. life. also happy new year!
[His own reasoning? He's not from Hyrule and doesn't have any real need for its money, especially if his stay is temporary at best. He has another pouch with enough for him to survive on if needed. And besides, it's for a good cause. It's fine.
Felix wrinkles his nose as he regards the baked goods again. The curiosity is still there and he can't help--]
Can I try one?
[--although his voice skipping there is not what he intended, so he quickly clears his throat and adds:]
Seeing as how I just forked over a lot of money, I might as well...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
[He gestured to the treats he had finished making, as well as the ones the baker had made. They were all truly pretty. With a rainbow of macarons lined up and pretty little mousse and strawberry cakes...the works.
Sidon pointed to the macarons.]
These ones are my favorites. They are light and airy, not overly sweet. But soft in the middle. What were they called?
-Macarons!
no subject
Light and airy, not overly sweet. Sounds perfect for a self-proclaimed disliker of sweets.]
Hmm.
[The blue ones stick out the most, as do the red ones. So Felix plucks up two -- one of each. It's not meaningful.]
I'll take these two, if it's alright.
[There's a pause before he brings the blue one up for a small bite. It's...it's soft. And exactly how Sidon described them. Except it's also perhaps the most delicious confectionary he's ever had.]
no subject
He wasn't retching! That was good? Yeah, maybe!]
Satisfactory?
omg that icon
He looks away, hand held up to wipe away any crumbs but to also hide any semblance of a blush.]
It's...
...good.
<3333
Oh then, perhaps he might REALLY love this-!
Oh, he was still working, yes. He promised to work.]
I have learned well from the baker then! His recipe, his credit.
[Some noises came from the kitchen behind him, giving Sidon a reason to turn. The baker, with a hand gesture, shooed him away. He got it, he said. Sidon, the Prince, the baker couldn't hold him anymore.]
Are you certain? There is still much to do!
[It was fine, he said. He's worked hard for so long that this help was more than he could ask for on short notice.]
If you say so...happy holidays to you, my good man. May these treats and delicacies bring just as much joy to everyone as they have already.
[Take some macarons, he said. Please take some.]
no subject
He does eye those macarons, though.]
...
...if he insists.
[Then it'll be rude for them to not at least take some of the macarons, right? Felix plucks up two of them. Almost opts for a third but that'll be too much.]
no subject
He was still a complete mess, how embarrassing. The smell of chocolate and sugar was seeped into his scales and he smelled like the bakery he worked at this evening, but he could not care less.
Sidon was confident now in spending the rest of the evening with his friend, and he was sure to grab his large package. The large package that was also slightly covered in cocoa powder and flour. Heavens.]
Indeed...please enjoy your holidays, dear baker.
[After throwing in a handful of rupees himself, baker be damned in accepting it or not, Sidon was off!
His cheeks were flushed because it hit him that he was a mess, but ah, he still didn't care at all really.]
no subject
You smell--
[Sweet, although that would invite speculation as to what Felix could possibly mean. A no-no, as he prefers to be more direct. Especially when it comes to dealing with others.]
...like a cookie. Or a cake. Are you even aware of that?
[He's teasing him but he's also wondering about it. Can Zora even smell things? Or is it different from a human or Hylian? There's so much Felix doesn't know and he can't help but, idly, wonder if it's due to him being so obstinate and grumbly whenever he's around the Zora.]
no subject
[...He hadn't noticed. Sidon raised his arm to finally see the caked cocoa powder finely plastered on his scales. He took the smallest whiff, how undignified.
Oh, he really smelled like that. He looked all over his person, he looked like that.]
Oh good heavens, I am filthy! I had not noticed one bit! I suppose I really got into all that baking.
I smell like the whole bakery!
no subject
[Alright, enough with the teasing. Otherwise Sidon might get the wrong (right?) idea or something. Instead, Felix waves a hand dismissively.]
Don't worry. You're not attending a state dinner or meeting any dignitaries -- it's just me. And I don't care. At least you don't smell like a garbage heap, or something worse.
no subject
[Still though, it was maybe a little embarrassing.]
I did not know baking would be such fun. It is an experience I would carry in the name of the season. The baker seemed pleased.
[He looked to Felix.]
You did not seem to disapprove either, I mean to truly thank you for your patronage. You are nowhere near a local, so it meant so much. To me and the baker.
