04. Now you know why they call it the terrible twos. How are you and your spouse coping?

[He had a son once upon a time, so he's not entirely new to fatherhood, but probably still an uncertain wreck, wanting what's best for your character and their new baby(s).

Home life isn't for him, he prefers that of the outlaw life so if you're not living with the gang then he only visits, but he visits as often as he can. Modern or scifi AUs are possible but heavy discussion needed.

No OCs, no one under 20. Not interested in #2, 6, or anything after, sort of want the pregnant/baby/toddler years only.]

[ ota, very open to adoptive prospects and scenarios, he's canonically inclined towards it. if you'd like to au a character as his bio kid that's fine too. ]

[ she comes home when the moon is high in the sky and slivery, cut into a lopsided grin in the sky like the clouds are laughing. she always comes home this late, around four in the morning— frost is on the windows of her old, beat up car that she maintains herself out of necessity all the way home. she keeps the gas tank on half at all times, but the thing still runs worse than a turtle shuffling away. she isn't in a position to get a better ride.

it's hardly a surprise when she gets home to equally underwhelming apartment to see a yellow-hued light slipping out from underneath the door in a dull slice. the lamp in the the living area is fading quick because she needs to change the lightbulb but tifa is so rarely home when she has need for the lights to be on that this slips her mind often. it's just something else on the list of things to be done at a later point, which keeps getting later and later. the bar keeps her busy: busier than she'd admit. she could always do with more things to work on, tifa thinks.

she hears him still; even now, she can hear him in that apartment, probably putting away things like creamer and the salt or fluffing her pillows and making sure there's no dust on the counter tops. it's a fruitless effort for her, who keeps everything surprisingly tidy for someone with next to no time, but an act she can respect all the same. the lock accepts her key with a small amount of effort because the lights illuminating the hallways are dimmed. she always feels like she's left a scratch on the doorknob before she gets inside.

tifa shakes her puffy sleeved jacket off, tossing her long hair over her shoulder before she offers him a confused smile. it isn't a shock to see him there, dully lit by her old lamps and dying ceiling lights, not because he's as regular a fixture as the light switch or anything. but it's because she had told him she wanted to tell him something in person when she could. it had been nothing in detail and nothing to imply good or bad, only something of enough importance that speaking over the phone seemed in poor taste. of course, there's a number of things she's trying right now; tifa wants the bar to be, well, a bar as much as a restaurant. she's trying to find a bigger apartment, somewhere that she doesn't feel she's outgrown: something he's probably interested in, too, considering paper work they've been pushing through as much as possible. ] Did I... get the dates wrong or did you try out some new tech? I didn't realize you'd be back on this side of the globe until morning.

[ or afternoon, or evening; it depends. there's a lot of variables in someone like him who would come with just as many variables without all the years of trauma. knuckles to her hips and the suggestion of bags under eyes, she observes him from head to toe, wondering what would drag his metal butt all the way here suddenly, if not her forgetting the actual time he told her. then again, isn't four in the morning still, well, the morning? she lets out an appreciative hum, and approaching him with her arms behind her back, tifa cants her head. ]

It doesn't matter much, in the end. It's a nice surprise.

Colleen had tried reaching out to Din once she was aware of her condition. She hadn't heard back right away but given the fact her first instinct was to move herself out of her current location that wasn't something to bother herself with until she felt her boys were safe.

Colleen didn't trust the safety of that world. The first time with her sons being taken had set her on edge. She was not about to spend up to a year there having to be on high alert due to this new child. Moving had been the only option.

She had wanted to at least let Din know what was going on. Let him know that she might go to ground as her instincts as a Garou made her more likely to want to secret herself away. Maybe he would understand. She needed a place she felt was more defensible than that house had been.

After her first month in the new location she gets restless. No word. She had made it easy for him. She made sure the boys could fend for themselves and went hunting.Colleen would tell him and then go back. It was a bit early to start worrying too much Din but with no word when she has asked him nicely to talk Colleen will admit she was concerned. Colleen resolved to at least find him to tell him the news face to face. It was the right thing to do. It takes too long for her tastes. She is able to keep in touch with the kids to make sure they're fine but still, another six weeks and as many planets later has the red haired woman wanting to ponder shooting her baby's father.
