Snuggle, Snuggle

One of the best parts of having a boyfriend, girlfriend, lover, crush, or mutual-feels-sharer is that you also have an almost-guaranteed cuddle buddy. From the bubbly butterflies to the most sullen of assholes, pretty much everyone wants affectionate contact sometimes, so whether it be laying your head on your partner's lap, holding their hand, falling asleep on them, bumping foreheads, snuggling close and tucking yourself under their chin, or even just touching shoulders, don't fight the urge! Hug it out.

In public, in private, on a date, watching a movie, riding along on the back of a dragon, it doesn't matter where you are. Or maybe it does to you, but the benefits of being close absolutely outweigh the risks.

Take your time, too, especially if you're not used to this sort of intimacy. Cuddling doesn't have a shelf life!

[ a lot of things had ended up happening that she hadn't intended the other night, not the least of which was telling him the truth about what had happened with ben. she hadn't expected finally telling somebody about it would feel good, but she realized that it was because she'd been imagining the reaction if she'd told people who could never understand how the world had broken her brother, or why she'd agree to stop it from breaking him further. she hadn't been imagining telling the only other person who might have gotten it. even more than that, she hadn't imagine that he could have gotten it.

but he had. and he hadn't held it against her.

she'd told him she came here to be alone, and she had. but she'd invited him to stay instead of asking him to leave because she realized, even after saying that, that being alone after what she'd just done was making things worse. he was right, they could both use a friend.

they're quiet for a while after the initial banter, if that's the word for it. she doesn't feel like talking and he seems happy to let her sulk, at least for a little while. but his arm comes around her shoulders before she's even aware he's moving, and while she tenses for a moment as it settles around her, she doesn't shove it away or stay where she is. much to her own surprise, she tucks into it, pillowing her head against his shoulder. ]
