Happy Thanksgiving

It's that time of year! Whether you're from the United States or have just seen it in movies, everyone knows that Americans take Thanksgiving very seriously. We consume copious amounts of food, watch a lot of football, and kick off the insane shopping season with Black Friday. It's also a time of family and togetherness, which is better for some than others. What sort of holiday will your muse have?

Prompts
1. Not Home for the Holidays – You’re stuck on the other side of the world, or on a different world altogether. How do you make the best of the occasion?

2. Road Trip – The snacks are packed and you’re ready to go to grandma’s house. But what happens when you lose GPS signal and get lost in the middle of nowhere or the car breaks down?

3. Stuck in the Airport – You’re snowed in and the hotels are full of fellow delayed passengers. Why don’t they make these chairs more comfortable for sleeping in?

4. Meeting the Family – It’s your first time meeting your significant other’s family, be they biological or chosen, and you’re nervous as hell about it.

5. Avoiding the Family – You’re obligated to go home for the holiday, but there’s only so much you can take of your family. Go for a walk, stop by the bar, whatever it takes for a little peace and quiet.

6. Friendsgiving – You’re spending the holiday with your chosen family. Are you hosting the event, or just bringing an extra bottle of wine?

7. The Dinner – What’s on the table? Is it set for two or twelve? Can you make it through the meal without someone causing drama?

8. Slaving Over a Hot Stove – Do you have to make the entire meal yourself or have you enlisted someone’s help with the mashed potatoes?

9. Burned the Turkey – Well, the main course is a little blackened. Time for Chinese food, or is it pizza this year?

10. Game Time - Football is a Thanksgiving tradition. Are you watching the game on TV, or out playing one of your own?

11. Thanksgiving Day Parade - Who doesn't love a good parade? Are you in it or just watching from the sideline?

12. Black Friday – Are you out fighting the crowds for the best deals? Or are you behind one of the counters, stuck in the annual retail holiday hell?

13. Write-in Option – Is there something we missed? Is there another scenario you want to play out, or would you like to roll the dice again? Go for it!

I've already met your family. Do we have to do this?

[That's not exactly true, Jordan supposes. She met Ronan. That left at least one brother to meet, not counting whoever else might be at this Thanksgiving dinner Declan invited her to. When she said yes, she'd reasoned that a lifetime of having Hennessy for a sister meant that she could handle anything.

That belief lasted her up until Hennessy told her that no, she wouldn't swap places with Jordan just because she was getting cold feet at the idea of meeting Declan's family. Then they'd parked the car and the idea of Thanksgiving went from a concept to a reality. She's never done Thanksgiving before. Her entire family consists of Hennessy, who thinks holidays are a waste of time. What if she does Thanksgiving wrong? Can Thanksgiving be done wrong?

Jordan looks over at Declan, trying to silently communicate that she'd rather do literally anything else. Steal the Mona Lisa, maybe. That sounded like a fun way to celebrate Thanksgiving.]

The Winter Queen, Medea Lucrece, holds a feast that all changelings in town are welcome to attend, especially those who can't establish contact with their families again for whatever reason. A member of the Knights of the Knowledge of the Tongue, the Queen herself cooks the meal, one last occasion to show off before she puts away her chef's jacket and the food truck she runs for her season of responsibility.

Since arriving from the Hedge around four years ago, Coda's attended every single one of these meals. The hologram-like Elemental is a bit of a hermit much of the time, which might be why they were seated near Jamie--perhaps the Fairest can draw them out of their shell a little.

Here's the greatest downside to accepting a Thanksgiving invitation from Bunny: Tofurky. Regardless of how well-seasoned it is, or how good the side-dishes are, there's something a little rubbery and unappealing about the mock-meat masquerading as a proper holiday dish.

But he seems proud of himself as he sets the roast on the table, ears perked and a goofy little smile on his face. "Bon appetit!"

[ Cooking... is stressful. She really doesn't understand how anyone enjoys this. Hacking into the CIA's database? Easy. Infiltrating an alien ship? Piece of cake. Putting together a Thanksgiving meal for the first time? She's just about ready to fling herself out the window and text everyone to meet at Denny's.

[Magneto isn't actually fool enough to get too close to SHIELD HQ, particularly since the Brotherhood has been actively hitting mutant detention facilities and one Senator Nelson of the House Committee on Mutant Affairs was very publicly murdered by Magneto at one of those facilities last week. However, he also can't resist poking at them, just a bit, on his way to Charles's school for Thanksgiving, and so when he sees Coulson on the street, he falls into step next to him. Magneto is wearing as close to normal clothes as he gets, the finely spun metal thread he prefers looks like street clothes but can be rearranged with his power into his armor at a moment's notice. He's carrying two pecan pies, one of which has a sticky note indicating it's for Maria Hill. Magneto's accent is a slight mix of German and British.]

Agent Coulson, isn't it? I'm told you're quite the hero. Happy Thanksgiving. Care for a pie? I'm on my way to New York to spend the holiday with a few old friends and former students, but I couldn't resist dropping in for a moment.
