Word Association is a common word game involving an exchange of words that are associated together. [ It's choosing between evils with guys like him. Either she leans into her fear (which she'd admit to if asked; only an idiot would relish swimming with hungry sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads) and swallows the indignity, or she presents herself in defiance of it and he takes it as refreshing. Or a challenge. Or worse. The former is the smarter play. It's too bad her character won't allow it.

Infiltrating the Vought building is fast climbing the rankings on her list of biggest mistakes. ]

[ boring homelander? what a fruitless endeavor. he's having fun, but he knows that she doesn't belong here. he's never seen her before, and while faceless corporate employees generally mean nothing to him — he can tell that there's something amiss. will he do something about it? time will tell. ]

[ She flexes her hands inside her jacket pockets, balling them into fists and releasing them. Her weight shifts to her heel and her hip, as if she's less affected than she really is. ]

[ he watches her shift and he smiles without teeth, but it doesn't meet his eyes. what a cute answer. he can sense that sarcasm aches to drip from her tongue. ]

[ It legitimately hurts a little to withhold that sarcasm. Or maybe that's a side-effect of prolonged exposure to his abrasive charm. ]

[ his smile widens, cheeks dimpling with that all-american charisma. he wants to ask her name, but he doesn't. this is all good fun, isn't it? ]
