[ Dean is based off of the Matthew Swift series by Kate Griffin. He is a sorcerer, someone who uses modern technology to cast magic, in New York and owns a nightclub named Oddfellows. The club exclusively caters to the magical/supernatural community. If you're a normal person you have to know someone magical to get inside. The limited entry makes it one of the most mysterious and popular clubs in the city.

Everyone who works for the club is magical as well from the bartenders to the DJ. Dean's life is basically his club which he's spent years building into a successful business from nothing more than a business loan and stubborn hope. More details here. ]
