▸ post your character ◂ ▸ you're now in a universe where destined soul mates exist! ◂ ▸ rng for the type of au and for the ~situation~ ◂ ▸ tag around ♥ ◂
type of au; 1. tats, your character has a tattoo of the first words the love of their life will say to them 2. familiars, your character has an animal tattoo representing their soul mate on them 3. glow, the first time your character sees their soul mate, their chests glow! 4. world in color, life is literally black and white, until you see your soul mate for the first time 5. choose your own, i'm definitely missing a milly because i'm lazy, pick your own
1. First Meeting: You'll feel the spark almost on first sight. Yes, he's not your type. No, she's is a villain and your a hero. It doesn't matter. You can't chose these things. 2. Not Accepting: No, this person can't be it! They're so...so not what you've expected! 3. We Belong Together: You've decided to come together, like it's intended, and you're reaping the benefits. 4. Like Ships in the Night: The obligatory sex option. The two of you are cementing your bond in the most traditional of ways, and you'll soon learn that sex with others can't compare to sex with someone who's completely yours. 5. Stronger as Two: In battle or in life, the two of you combined are unstoppable. 6. There's Someone Else You've met your soulmate...but you're with someone else. Now that you know your other half is out there for sure, can you keep that up? 7. Love Will Tear Us Apart: Someone is hurting one half of the pair, and it's bringing pain to both of you. Maybe you can protect or save the other. 8. Not Fortune's Fool: You're flying solo. You have no intention of becoming a matched pair. Forget about what anybody else says, just focus on you. 9. Soulmates Never Die: Except when they do. Somehow, yours has passed on or is dying in your arms, leaving you alone in the world. How do you feel? 10. WILDCARD: Choose your own.
[ especially interested in wildcard options like shared magic/mana, empathic or telepathic bonds, shared dreams, and name tattoos. crosscanon and assumed cr welcome ]
[Can I offer you an imperial soldier with the powers of telekinesis whose abilities were augmented as a child through a series of extremely painful and traumatic experiments and whose brain might be mildly tampered with via brainwashing?
Leaking/shared abilities sounds pretty dang fantastic. It's been a hot minute since those halcyon days of DA2 but I can probably shift into the setting pretty easy.]
(ooc: missed your face. i like the idea of ghost having a wolf tattoo somewhere on him, but i'm not sure what animal would best represent ghost. some sort of bird, i think. maybe an owl?)
He doesn't remember much. Freeze, thaw, the chair, an assignment and a target, report for debrief and the chair again. There are moments when the Asset is given time, shower or to eat or to dress. Moments when fragments bubble up, images or voices he can't name.
He can't hide them from his handlers.
What he can hide is the mark along his right side, a series of jagged fractals etched into his skin. They mean something, even if the Asset doesn't know what it might be. He only knows that it's important.
[Bright. It's so bright, not a yellow. Not an orange. It's a hue that is catching and spicy to his eyes. Radiating a heat that makes him think of the way fire moves.
All Eddie's life he's been missing the color red in his vision. That's because he hasn't met his soulmate if you believe that crock. He's been in the belief that there's some sortof visual processing problem. Venom hasn't been able to fix it. But he recognizes it.
Red, Eddie. It's red.]
Sorry.
[He almost fucking took out the young lady barreling past her. The deadline was urgent, perhaps not s urgent to just plow his way through the streets. It's the New Yorker in him that has never quit.]
[ looking only for platonic soulmates, and so in that case i'm interested in weird twists on things like 1/2/5/7/8. as for the soulmate 'signal' i'm partial to either tattoos or them developing something else shared between the two, but totally open to other ideas. interested in stuff like: -we're on opposite sides but we fit together weirdly well and now fate means that if we keep injuring each other during this fight, we just keep sharing the injuries -it's actually really inconvenient to stay within ten feet of each other at all times, but soulmates in this universe are not inherently romantic and actually have some really inconvenient or even horrific consequences when they link two people -soulmate bonding is essentially like sharing a jaeger and you get random insight into the other's mental state, flashbacks, and can even inadvertently (or on purpose) control the other's movements, etc
very open to discussing things first or just throw a scene at me. ]
(Sometimes Wanda sees Loki in her dreams. She think it has to do with the Mind Stone. They were both exposed to it's power in different ways.
She starts to dream of him being on her fire escape. After the Snap situation, Wanda moved away from the Avengers and hung up her hat in a small apartment in the Bronx.
One night, she sees him sitting there. In Asgardian armor, holding his helmet. Wanda stumbles out of bed and to the fire escape-- lo and behold, he is there. She doesn't ask how he got there, he might not know himself. Or maybe he's in her mind? This could be a dream. She isn't sure. She just opens the window and climbs out to sit by him.)
[ever since the mark had appeared upon her coming of age many, many years ago, morga didn't pay it too much attention. it never quite reacted the way the marks belonging to so many others did, and it was something the seers could never figure out even after her marriage to lutz. 'it doesn't matter,' she'd tell them. and really, it didn't. that wasn't to say it never piqued her curiosity (and in one instance, even the chariot's), but... there were more important things to deal with than some silly little soulmark. things like raising a child, leading the clan, and... everything else that came after.
after lutz, she'd expected it to fade and scar not unlike the ones the widows and widowers of her clan carried. the man was weak, yes, but... he still held some importance in her life. somewhere, some small part of her believed that it was simply different. but in the end, it still didn't matter.
over time it slipped her mind. there was the rare occasion where she'd look at it - an odd sort of raven on the inside of her arm - but in the end it was just like the rest of the scars on her body. simply part of her, and nothing more. really, it suited morga just fine. she never was the type to settle down, and it's not as if there were any laws in the south (or anywhere) that stated she had to find the person it belonged to. hell, some people went their entire lives without their supposed "other half." it still wasn't a big concern of hers.
up until something called her north.
call it a disturbance in the force or a gut feeling. whatever the reason, fate carries her forward, and with it the mark. it almost burns the further she wanders around town, but it's too late to turn back. she should. morga damn well knows she ought to pivot on her heel and march herself back down south, or at the very least go check in on a certain someone from afar, but... she doesn't. instead of doing the logical thing, she simply stands in the middle of the street, grey eyes focused on the swinging sign above a door with a few... unsavory types lingering nearby. a waste of time, she tells herself. that's what this is, morga.]
she should leave. but leaving means that she'd be running, and morga does. not. run.]
...To hell with it.
[at the very least it'll sate her curiosity, right? and, well, a pub is a pub. move over, big guy. she's going in.]
