( He can only withstand a moment of that obviously genuine pain before he's stepping forward into Jim's space. Sharp eyes meet those pleading ones, and for a second, the corners of his mouth quirk upward in a small quiet show of amusement. )

How foolish of me to ever doubt the word of my Captain. I shall endeavor to avoid this mistake in the future.

( Softly spoken as ever with that same formality on just this side of sarcastic. He watches Jim for a second beneath his lashes before reaching out, tracing a fingertip of the edges of the wrapping. He looks down at where it was taped securely to the skin. Almost too securely, one might say. His expression shifts once more to clinical and without giving it a second thought, he kneels as gracefully as any knight standing before his Queen.

A second hand joins the first, carefully feeling along the wrappings' intertwining threads, seeking a spot where he might begin to delicately begin its removal from wounded flesh. Those probing fingertips eventually do find a suitable opening beneath the tape. He frowns a little, and looks up into those pretty blue eyes.
)

I could do this fast or slow, Jim. Which would you prefer?
