Crossover pairings are fun. Arguably, they can be one of the best parts of panfandom RP. After all, there's nothing quite like that spark when two characters just "click," especially when it was completely unplanned. AWESOME.

Unfortunately, in a lot of shipping memes here and elsewhere, the environment isn't really conducive to spontaneity. People usually just stick to castmates or close friends, and don't tag out due to lack of knowledge of canons or just plain intimidation. That's not fun for those of us who want to throw caution out the windows and just try crazy things, like throwing a Thor at a Sailor Moon (which, really, isn't that crazy of an idea if you look at the mythos for both series...).

This meme's for you, risk takers, crack shippers, or people who just want something new. Go. Play. Don't let anything stop you. Don't know where to go with an idea? Wing it! The prompts here are not the super specific variety that most ship memes have, where you almost have to have canon knowledge. Want to reply to a character but have no idea where to begin? Make things up! The more creative, the better.

The Steps
- Make a comment with your character, canon, preferences, etc in the subject.
- Comment to other characters! Use the RNG, first rolling for category (1-3) and then for prompt.
- This meme was created for crossovers, and that's heavily encouraged, but no one is going to hunt you down if you play with a castmate. Just try to remember the purpose of the meme, okay?
- HAVE FUN

Two Ways to Play
#1 (the buildup)
- Start with the first category, which is how the characters meet. Play that as you see fit. THEN, do a timeskip! If you don't know what that means, it's when you handwave that time has past. Assume the characters have known each other for a while. Move on to a prompt in the next category. Rinse, repeat. You can build a relationship!

#2 (the regular)
- Just play it as usual. Roll for category, then for prompt.

Manchester had beautiful weather today but he didn't care. Nothing about this place was living. Nothing made him feel like he wanted to be living either.

He heard the song that was playing on the radio when he was hit by the car. Bowie. Is there Life on Mars?

Sam thought so and he smiled. Even if the music sounded a little off. The accent was wrong. There was no instrumentals. But Sam still made up his mind to take that leap of faith.

Of course, when the door open and someone started moving around, he soon ducted behind the conditioning system in the worry that the DCI's were out for their morning smoke. Which meant he'd be caught out...

But no, it was just some strange bloke standing in the middle of the roof, looking weirdly content. Huh, probably just got free himself.

Or, you know, he was trying to kill himself. Shit! This was meant to be a day off, for Christ sake! "WOAH! Stop, okay, do not do that!"

It's so mundane. It's so ridiculous. It's so much not how he'd wanted to spend their night together.

But the bug hadn't left him after a day of rest, and their date night had to be canceled if he couldn't get himself up onto his feet to do more than shuffle to the bathroom and miserably back.

It's instinctive to tell her to stay away, that they'd reschedule, that he didn't need anything. It's ridiculous to hope she still makes the same bad soup and refuses to let him tell her she can't come force it down his throat.

There's a waiting that has to happen when a person dies. He's struggled to be there at the moment, to really be a guide and a help and a familiar face, but he's never quite managed it. A person has to die on their own. Has to let go. Has to say their goodbyes to the living before they can come into the arms of the dead.

But he sticks close. He sticks close so he's there the moment Andrew's eyes seem to come into focus on the other spirits around them.

They're letting him outside. Not just out into the garden. Not just to the gate to wait for Erica to come. With an orderly following along, they're letting him actually outside of the compound he's been kept in for months.

He's overwhelmed. Wants to know what to do, what to say, how to take her hand and lead them out to something as mundane as getting an ice pop to sit in the park with.

Can only make it to taking her hand before he has to look to her, lost.

It's a busy street, which isn't exactly rare for Baltimore, Maryland. Hannibal is dressed appropriately for the chilly weather in a long, fashionably-cut jacket, his cheap motorcycle abandoned at his dorm for this preferred and much more interesting way of travelling. Whenever he has the time to spare, Hannibal prefers to walk, to watch people up close and personal, feel them instinctively shrink from him when he wills it, or stride casually close to him when he hides away his darker nature.

His only destination is the deli point-nine miles further down the blocks, his feet tapping out the rest of the distance, eyes focused on all the people around himself.

Baltimore is the purest definition of the word "foreign" -- even the biggest of cities back in Faerun couldn't hold a candle to the industrialist architecture, the curious dress sense, or the bizarre metallic carriages that raced down the smooth-stone pathways. Signs burst to life with electric light, the air smell of machinery and food, and much to Alastair's dismay, plantlife is at a surprising minimum.

Learning to adapt and blend in was a challenge even for him. This dimension is unlike anything he has ever imagined. The humans here don't even seem to be aware of the magic that exists on this plane! His own capabilities are one of his many well-kept secrets after two months in this impossible place, which is easy enough to do in the presence of people who seem to be so wrapped up in their own agendas that they take no note of the world around them.

Alastair is much more observant.

Underneath his "modern" wool coat (picked off of the back of a chair in an open-air café -- people are too easy!) he is wearing a bizarre beige woven sweater fit for some earth-crunchy hippie (purchased at a second hand shop, thank you very much) but still with his leather pants, black boots, and trinkets and jewelery galore. Its chilly enough tonight to be layering up in these newer threads, but also to look less conspicuous.

He likes to think he's doing a great job.

It's also cold enough to be concerned about provisions. Lee is back at the abandoned apartment building trying to hotwire an electric heating-device-thing, but they need food. It's a shame when you don't have the proper paperwork to get a job.

But Alastair knows how to live on the rough side of life.

He stands by his moral code in selecting his targets, catching on quickly who looks to be wealthy enough to spare a pocket book. Tonight, he already has two new ones in the innermost breast pocket of his jacket, but he's feeling a little greedy tonight and wants to make his way home with a third. It takes a half an hour of walking up this busy street before he turns a corner and spots a shorter man -- quite clean looking, nice shoes, good hair. Oh, and a pretty face too -- Alastair's going to feel a little guilty making off with his money.

Alastair adopts a brisk step as he strides. Just before he is about to cross paths with the young man he bumps shoulders with him, letting his hand slip like a snake into the pocket level with this stranger's hip to nick the money clip holding a lump of folded bills.

In a fluid movement, sharp as if reflex, Alastair spins around and back, hands lifting up slightly in an apologetic gesture -- which conveniently lets the money clip slide up his sleeve and out of sight. He gives a soft, embarrassed chuckle.

"My apologies!"

There's an alley to his left, and he's now turning to escape the moment the man continues on his way.
