Assume that a scene's been going on for a while and you're starting in the middle of the action. (If you don't know what in media res means, Webster defines it as, "In or into the middle of a narrative or plot.") If you need an idea of what might've happened/is happening/will be happening then...

You know. RNG. Numbers.

1. And that was when the small animal tried to jump on your character.
2. And that was when your character realized that what they just ingested tasted horrible.
3. And that was when your character was informed that recovery would take longer.
4. And that was when your character got shot at.
5. And that was when your character turned the corner and saw something or another.
6. And that was when your character ruined the story/joke/information they were trying to tell and just messed up on the delivery.
7. And that was when the plan backfired.

Unfortunately, his old fashioned camera isn't on hand ~~(for once)~~ right now, but oh well. Classic flavor or not, this is too great to miss. Totsuka slips his phone out, takes a small step back, and snaps a couple of pictures. He gives Lace a thumbs-up when he's done.

...now what. It looks pretty comfy where it is, and Lace has a hood on, so its claws shouldn't hurt, but...]

[When Tosuka gave him a thumbs up, he lightly move his hand up, waving it in a soft, gentle motion at the bird]

[The bird moved away from his hand but not off his hood, no, it was far too comfy to leave!]

...I guess he likes you.

[Totsuka puts his phone away again, then goes back up to Lace. Since it seems like the owner of that hood would rather not have a passenger right now, he gently reaches up to the bird as well. Come over here, maybe?]

[He hesitantly tilts his head down to let the bird try and move over. The bird stares at the hand before moving over a bit.]

Or he just really appreciates your taste in stylish hoods.

[He turned his gaze back to the bird, now contemplating whether having a nest here or a nice perch on the others sleeve was good or not.]

[What minor invasion? To him this is like twenty feet away compared to other weirdos. Lace tilts his head down, the bird (Now being miffed that his future nesting spot was moving) flew up and away.]

[A small frown was on his face. Why didn't it like Totsuka?]

I must have scared it.....Sorry....

[Oops. Oh, well. Problem solved. Totsuka lowers his arm as he watched the bird fly away.]

It's fine, it's fine. I bet he was just taking a short break, anyway.
