[ So a few things lead them to where they are right now. A rocky start to the mission in the morning. A rocky middle to the mission in the morning. A rocky end to it. A rocky continuation of the day.

Everyone's tired, no one is having a good time - except for Giorno, it looks like, since he keeps smiling whenever anyone meets his gaze; and Narancia, who hasn't stopped talking about the lunch they'd stopped for since about seven hours ago when that happened.

Getting sent off on the briefest errand possible, literally just depositing an envelope into a post box for some snailmail communication with a politician, should have been an event-free addition to a boring but tiring day. Even though it was Giorno and Abbacchio sent to go do it. They get there in silence. They're leaving in silence.

And then as they're heading back down a wide stone stairway, Abbacchio - who's been leading the way with a huff Giorno's been pointedly ignoring - trips. Nothing major. He'd probably be fine.

It's just that instinct kicks in when Giorno sees Abbacchio's reaching hand miss the railing. He jerks forward, reaches out, and grabs him. By the hand.

He's very aware that this was a bad idea about half a second after it happens, but his only chosen response to dealing with that is to smile and say, ] You should be careful. [ Because maybe there's a tiny part of him that knows and would like you to think he isn't bothered in the slightest by you, Abbacchio. ]
