Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful.

But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner.

Like you're doing now.

Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached...

[The hot water had been running for several minutes by the time Simon gets in, leaning back into the tub. Every muscle aches, but he doesn't show it. He just moves back, eyes getting to look up just enough to look over Alisha's figure. Honestly there's nothing more beautiful he's seen, and he feels that pull on his chest. He isn't as sheepish as he once was, but watching her certainly has its affects on him.

Simon moves back in the water and allows room for her to settle in between her legs, enough bubbles and salt in the water for them both to relax. Right now they could both use it. He doesn't say anything, but he's ready for her sink in the warm water with him.]

There was a part of her that wanted to sink in and kiss him. A part of her that still wondered that she felt this way for Simon. And maybe she'd never entirely grow out of that for so many reasons. First, because it was Simon. The kid who'd looked more like he'd go postal or something than be some kind of badass. And fine. Maybe he had killed one of their probation workers, but he wasn't like that. Not really. He'd done it to protect them. And now here they were and slipping into the bath with him wasn't unusual enough to worry about it.

But he was obviously tired and she was content to just lie there for a bit, so while she tilted dangerously in his direction as if she might kiss him, she turned at the last minute and pressed her back against him, relaxing into the heat of the water and the firmness of his body with a deep sigh.

It was only when she'd settled that she turned her head to the side and leaned in to press her lips to his jaw.

"Hot," she declared, a light in her eyes that said it might not have been the water she was talking about.

For him it was more concrete, his feelings, how she had believed in him, helped to shape him into the man he was now. He knew that she might not totally get it, but it was so clear to him, because it had already happened to him. And right now this was all he had. He would do what he could to hold these moments, because the truth was he did care for all of them. Her in particular for obvious reasons.

He almost reacts to the kiss she nearly places on him, but instead turns and leans against him. Simon would never tire of her touch though.

"As are you," he replied back in that flat and ever calm voice, arms wrapping around her middle to keep her right against him in the warm water.

For a little while, Alisha just let herself sink in to the warmth of the water and the strength of Simon's body. Strength. Funny how she never imagined that she could find strength of any kind in Simon... Fuck. She didn't even know his last name. It'd never seemed important. He'd never seemed important.

Everything else in her life was going to shit. Her powers. Curtis. But this. This was something she could hold onto with both hands.

She turned her head and kissed his jaw. "You don't have to be such a gentleman," she teased.

It was hard to not regard her with this softness. It wasn't that he didn't what she was capable of. Simon absolutely knew it, but he was always in awe of the attention he did give her, even if his confidence levels were far above the version in her time. He also just didn't want to push this too far, freak her out more than she already was. She still came back though. She still found her way back to his flat, and it was never just because of the questions she was still sorting out.

It was because of him. So when she kissed the side of his jaw, he smiled slightly and let his hands run over her sides in the water. They moved over the curve of her hips to her thighs though not quite breaching inward. "I know," he told her, leaning in to press his body against her back. In some ways it was a bit of promise, a tease. He knew her body well by this point.

"You know, just because my powers don't work on you doesn't mean I don't have other ways to encourage you to do what I want." Not that she did more than capture his lips with hers. She was curious about this new Simon, the one who seemed more confident than any of the boys she'd known. Even Curtis. Was he really from the future? She couldn't imagine how the Simon she'd known could get to this Simon. But what if she thought he was lying? What would that mean?

Better that she just live in the moment. It was where she liked best. She'd never really been one for worrying about the future. Right now, he was here and she was here and they were in the bath together. If there was something coming in the future, she'd deal with it when it was right in front of her.

"So shut up and kiss me."
