Please forgive the state of this letter, this is my third attempt and I must confess that I would most likely run out of paper before I could get a tidy letter together.

You may not remember me, I'm new in the area, though I did almost land on you when I fell out of that tree so perhaps you do. All the same, let me introduce myself again: Corentin Dedrick, at your service.

I realise that I'm being very forward, but I would like to get to know you better. I don't know many people here, and I suppose there's just something about you that makes me want to know more. Now, since it might not be entirely appropriate to come calling on you out of the blue, I thought writing might work.

I hope I haven't caused any offence, I certainly didn't mean to.

[ An envelope has been methodically slid under the her apartment door. There is a carefully placed seal, red with a cursive style "W" stamped in the middle. On the opposite side the name "Valentine" hand written in thick cursive lettering. In it contains a typed out letter on parchment paper. The coloring of the paper has aged, but the actual paper condition is pristine; Stiff with a decent weight to it, and folded meticulously into thirds. Upon opening the letter will read as follows:

Jill Valentine,

I write to you with the intention that you may one day know the truth. Things are not clear now as they should be, but I do hope that some day you will understand, and possibly forgive me for what I am about to disclose to you.

July 23rd, 1998 will be the first of two coordinated attacks. Bravo Team will be dispatched and taken out first. The night of July 24, 1998 will be another attack. Alpha Team will be the last to go in and meet their fate the same way. I will be the one to personally lead this mission. Umbrella Pharmaceuticals will be the ones responsible.

Should this letter find you prior, it means that I have had a change of heart and can no longer go through with Umbrella's plans and will be seeking you out personally. Should this letter find you after, or perhaps never, it means that I have made the choice to betray you and the rest of STARS.

My only wish is for what is best. More precisely, I've always been fond of you in particular and regret whatever ill feelings may come to fruition. It's not like me to indulge in silly confessions or a change of heart, but even I am not immune to fall subject to either. It's because of these feelings that I am in a compromising position and am having... doubts. If anyone could ever change my mind, it would be you. However, my time is short. I have very little of it to explain my situation other than if this were the end? I wanted to confess everything to you before it were too late.
