She was always there. Always there when even his light of optimism and hope seemed to grow dim. Even when most of the world had turned against him. Not to mention her brother after they officially started their relationship upon his return.

Allen turned under the covers and was face to face with her slumbering expression. Honestly how could he not have seen it sooner. How much she meant, how much she supported, how much he actually needed her. Well the darker times had passed and he had made her cry a fair share. So he wanted to make it up to her in every way possible. He raised his left hand since his right was trapped under his own head. Gently he traced her cheek, marveling for what felt like the millionth time about the softness and warmth.

Allen shuffled closer until his nose bumped against hers before tipping his head up to press his lips lightly to hers.

"Lenalee~" he called softly.

[ Fili and Kili have never seen real battle or been to war. Maybe that's why weapons training has always seemed fun to them, almost like a recreational activity even if in the back of Fili's mind he knows that there will come a day when the battle is very real and he'll lose more than bragging rights if he's cut down in a fight. But here, under the mild winter sun in an empty field just outside of town where it's only him and his brother, that day seems very distant indeed.

The reason Fili enjoys sparring so much might be because he spars with Kili. With Kili, sparring is really just the mature form of the wrestling they used to do as boys. When it's just the two of them, without Thorin or Dwalin to oversee technique and form, to bark at them when they slip up or stumble, it transports Fili back to when things were simpler.

Still, training is training. Today it's swords, which means an advantage for Fili so he holds back just a little. Just enough to not be demeaning, and to help Kili improve. Kili shouldn't feel bad because he's still the best shot with a bow, probably in all of Ered Luin, Fili would swear in all of dwarfdom but then he tends to think the world of his brother (even though when they were younger Fili used to tease him by saying they weren't whole brothers and that Kili's father was actually an elf ~~Thorin was never amused~~).

They've been sparring for a while now; the sweat on Fili's forehead hardly gets a chance to cool in the crisp air before he heats up again. They're circling each other, eyeing each other's movements, and then Fili's mouth curves into a grin (Thorin would warn him about forming bad habits, but he doesn't give anything away in a real fight). ] You've left yourself open again.

[ As the words leave his mouth he lunges and swings at Kili's side, fully prepared to stop short of actually hitting him, if Kili fails to block. ]

[The problem with having really great chums who like you a lot is that 1) it is hard to get quality personal time, and 2) it is hard to escape unnoticed when the need for some quality personal time, er, arises without somebody making a joking remark and then a prank war erupting that inevitably ends with someone stealing someone else's underwear and it isn't always Lily's.

Which is why it's good that the other person in the room happens to be him, as he does-not-stumble-actually-he-just-wanted-to-give-the-step-there-a-sense-that-its-presence-was-valued into the Room of Requirement.
