[ For Dedue, the past several days have been a blur. The various medicines and magics being used have had him in and out of consciousness, and the times he was awake, he was often still in too much pain to really be aware of his surroundings. Fortunately, the tireless efforts to keep him alive have paid off, and in the past few days he has managed to stabilize, though it seems there is still a long road to his recovery.

He had been surprised by just how many people had been by to visit him, and while the visits seemed to take a lot out of him, they also touched him in a way he found difficult to describe. Perhaps most puzzling among them were the consistent visits from Felix, but these too he appreciated in a way he wouldn't have expected.

It doesn't surprise him when Felix enters the room, by now he's come to expect his visits to follow shortly after Dimitri's. Dedue shifts himself upwards in bed a little, though the movement makes him wince. ]

I am beginning to feel better. Mercedes is hopeful I will be back on my feet in a few more days.

[He arches a brow, admittedly a bit skeptical about that claim when Dedue winces just trying to sit himself up properly. Sure, it'd be better if he was on his feet, but rushing it won't help any either.]

Guess you're probably getting sick of being in bed all the time.

[Although he might be on enough medicines that it doesn't bother him. Felix has never been that injured before, so he couldn't say what it must feel like for Dedue. Knowing him, he's probably more frustrated about being unable to shadow Dimitri constantly than annoyed about being confined to a bed.]

You smell like sweat. Didn't anybody help you wash today? [He's fine. It's just an observation. Not like Felix helped with that at all before when Dedue was in and out of consciousness. Definitely not.]

[ Leave it to Dedue to be more worried about returning to his work than getting proper rest. He hates feeling so helpless, and now that he's well enough to be coherent, his attention has already shifted away from his own healing. ]

Oh... I apologize. [ He's become somewhat used to Felix's use of insults to mask concern, but he's still not quite sure how to handle them. ] I could send for someone to assist me now, if you would like to come back later.

There's no need. I'll do it.

[He says as if it's no big deal, and judging by the way he stands up again and goes to retrieve a small bucket of water and a few cloths, it might appear that he's done this before.

Felix places the bucket next to the bedside, then tugs off his gloves and tosses them on the nightstand. He's dressed casually this evening, having had no war council meetings or much else to do with his time other than hang out around the training grounds.

So, maybe he's being a hypocrite to mention Dedue's sweat when he's been active most of the day and has yet to bathe. It's different, though. He can bathe by himself whenever he wants. Dedue can't.]

...I guess I should make sure you're okay with me doing it. [Just because Felix did it before when he was barely conscious, doesn't mean he can do it when he's perfectly coherent.]

[ Dedue can't help but watch with him with a curious expression, not sure why Felix might want to assist him in this. Despite this mild confusion, he doesn't seem completely against the idea. Having a classmate- no, perhaps a friend- Dedue thinks he would be alright with that. ]

That would be fine with me.

[ He manages to get the rest of the way up, though there's no denying that it pains him to do so. ]
