let's go to the carnival!

the carnival meme

WHAT TO DO:
1. Post with your character!
2. Pick a scenario and reply to people!
3. Have fun and try not to get sick on the roller coaster!

OPTIONS:
1. Games: From classic ring toss to the shooting gallery, here's your chance to win a prize for yourself or for that special someone. Some say the games at a carnival are rigged, but maybe, just maybe, you'll get lucky!

2. Food and Drink: The sweet smell of funnel cake and the familiar briny aroma of popcorn draw you over to the food and drink tent. There's cotton candy, candied nuts, and cheep booze, all here for your enjoyment.

3. Classic Rides: The carousel, the ferris wheel. All carnivals need these classic rides for kids and adults who aren't looking for the excitement of the faster-paced rides. Snuggle close to your partner and see if you can see your house from the top of the wheel.

4. Something More Exciting: This is for thrill-seekers. Here you'll find the Tilt-a-Whirl, the Gravitron, the Screamin' Swing--all the rides designed to make you lose your lunch. Hope you didn't have too much cotton candy!

5. Freakshow: Do they really have a bearded lady in that tent? It's time to find out. Buy a ticket and see the greatest oddities the world has to offer.

6. Tunnel of Love: Or perhaps tunnel of mild boredom. The red-tinted lights and quasi-romantic music are meant to make this ride a great makeout spot, if the chemistry is there.

7. Hall of Mirrors: You and your partner entered, thinking it would be easy to get out again, but dead ends abound in this wacky mirror-maze, and each mirror seems to show a more and more distorted image of each of you.

8. Fortune Teller: Whether one of the creepy machines or the even creepier women dressed up in a culturally insensitive costume, you cross someone's palms with silver and get your future told. Will it be happiness forever with your partner, or will ill tidings be bound your way? (Feel free to use this online tarot spread for extra fun!)

9. Wildcard: Any situation of your choosing happens in a carnival today! Go with the flow.

"That's what it is, isn't it? Or, I guess it's more of a ship..." He nodded towards the giant swinging ship that rocked back and forth at increasingly precarious angles. "That one looks like a pirate ship, I think."

Anna nodded, apparently still a bit scatterbrained from earlier. For some reason she had thought he was talking about another boat ride.

"Yes, or the giant swing. But most of them are done up like ships. Priate, like that one" Gesturing with her chin. " or viking ships. I have no idea why. Maybe cause it's like getting caught up in a big assed storm with huuuuuuge waves?"

Whatever, she was game. Hell at this point of the night, she'd right it standing on her head as long as there were no snakes involved. A bit of a shudder at the chill induced by the thought as now she dragged him into line. Breaking his grip to shift her phone from her back pocket into one of the zippered ones on her jacket. Looking at him.

"Anything you want me to put in?"

No worries!

Anna had had a pretty traumatizing moment earlier; that she had recovered so quickly spoke of her resilience. "I think if I was in a boat that rocked that much, I would just abandon ship. There's no way that thing wouldn't capsize no matter how good the pirates and/or vikings were... Oh, thanks."

He offered over his own cellphone and wallet, checking the former to make sure nothing had blown up (literally or figuratively) while he had been off having fun. Looked like things were good! "You must have magic powers, no one is asking me where I am yet."

"Well not everyone has wings either." She laughed and let him put his stuff into her pocket, zipping it up and patting it lightly confident in the zipper's powers of securement.

"Oh? Are you saying I'm a singular distraction?"

"I mean, fair enough, but people who go out on the ocean without wings or some sort of swimming quirk are crazy. I respect them, but they're crazy." His wings meant that he couldn't really swim, so Hawks was leery of big bodies of water. Pirates were cool though.

"And yes, you're a very singular distraction, and you're dangerous because you know it." He chuckled, glancing over at her as they stepped up onto the ride.

Anna pondered that. "That is what people do, Quirks or not, they strive to survive." It may sound egalitarian at its face. "I think there is a quote...something about themselves themselves against the the stone." Her brow crossed cause she could not place it exactly.

Stepping along side him and sitting, ensuring Steve was properly stowed. "Do I? I am just me Hawkes."

"...You know all sorts of phrases I don't." Hawks would be curious to hear it, though. With Steve safely sandwiched between them, he grinned at her statement.

"Yeah, but you're 'just you' in the best way. You seem pretty comfortable in your skin." He tucked his wings up carefully against his back. "That's a super power in and of itself." Seeing as he wasn't entirely comfortable in his own.

"Blame it on me being from Texas. We tend to have a bunch of old saws." She placed her right hand on Steve's lap and gave a bit of a shrug. Honestly Anna didn't see it that way and had problems understanding why more people weren't more comfortable with themselves.

"I guess part of that is how I was raised. A lot of what we see is just that, and it distracts from seeing what people are actually doing. And that doing is what I was taught that counts." A bit of a smile. "But don't get me wrong, I appreciate the other stuff too." A bit of a pause. "It makes me feel good."

Best way she could describe it without sounding insane, and she liked the boyo so didn't want to chase him away. So that little admission would have to do.
