You enter the elevator with only one other person on it. Twenty seconds into the ride and it stops. The power is out. The doors won't open, you're between floors, and no one is answering your calls. You're stuck with this person for an unknown amount of time.

After pressing a few buttons, trying the emergency phone, and checking his own cellphone for a signal, he turns to her with a sheepish smile on his face.]

--Seriously, though, why does this keep happening when he's riding an elevator? It's a bit nice that the elevator isn't falling down this time, but it's a paltry blessing that maybe might not last long in the grand scheme of things here. As soon as the compartment jerks to a halt, and the lights cut out, Lucas is flattening himself right up against the nearest wall on his side just in case...before trying to squint through the darkness at the other person in here too.]

Hey...you okay? [A pause; he exhales, slow and shaky despite himself. Don't fall, elevator, please don't fall...] I wonder--what happened. Did something break?

[If he was with someone older, Quatre would roll his eyes, maybe. Say something cutting, yet mature, something that would underscore the fact that even though he's 17(ish) he's an adult, functional, and okay, and they had more important things to think about like getting out.

Maybe. [...] If it wasn't just something with the power, then it was something else. But I didn't hear anything, so I doubt it's anything too bad. If something blew up, we'd have heard something or felt something.

[By contrast he's going to take a couple of steps into the elevator and look up, as if he could see what went wrong, before realizing that

1. it's dark
2. he wouldn't know what went wrong even if it wasn't dark, he doesn't work for an elevator company and doesn't repair elevators for fun
3. there's also a ceiling between him and the rest of the elevator, so even if he knew how to fix elevators he wouldn't be able to do anything.]

Being responsible for a third teenager has been, he reflects, a learning experience. The patterns they'd fallen into years ago, when Neph stopped sneaking in their windows at night and started sneaking out, have had to be adjusted in a hundred ways.

For example: of the three of them, Cassian is the one who's home most days, and also the one least prone to blowing up at bureaucrats and nosy neighbors. So it's generally been his job to manage appointments, field the (frequently longsuffering) calls from the school office, and deal with any minor daily emergencies.

Unfortunately he's also the one Esther is least inclined to trust - for a lot of reasons, he assumes, only some of which he could possibly argue with. But Bodhi is run off his feet at work this week, and Jyn is off in Ireland working on a story, and so it had to be him who took Esther to her appointment in the city this afternoon.

Which means it's also Cassian in the elevator with her, listening perforce to a steady stream of '80s Classic Hits, when it grinds to a halt, three and a half stories above ground level. (The music does not.)

[OOC: I can toss this ball of rage at you if you're looking to test his more aggressive side/his patience. Klaus, in his canon, is a vampire-werewolf hybrid. Can't be killed and has some light rage issues. This kind of situation would definitely make him testy.

Alternatively, I could also throw his brother Elijah at you, the calmer and classier of the Mikaelson siblings. He would be much less hostile in this situation. I can write the starter, just let me know what you prefer.
