② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?

③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.

④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!

⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.

⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.

[What are the odds that the Avengers would stop by the small coffee shop Eli was working at in the small town, just a short drive from Anchorage, Alaska? Actually a lot higher when they had to stop a HYDRA attack on the nearby HAARP facility. He was serving up coffee, tea, and of course hot chocolate.]

[Eli was certainly not stupid, but even geniuses balk at Stark's intelligence, so he recognized he was way out of his weight class there, and the aforementioned drink had been... difficult, to say the least. He sat it down for him, and waited.

It was winter in Alaska, so to say it was cold was an understatement. To say it was snowing, was an understatement. Eli wasn't from Alaska, but he acclimated easily in most places, it didn't appear the Avengers were enjoying their northern trip.]

[ It seemed like forever since she had time to actually enjoy a relaxing day in the summer, even if the temperature had been bizarrely cold the past few days. There wasn't any signs of an inclination of weather and Claire had decided to take the bike out to go over to her brother's apartment. It just so happened that he was going to be away for a few days and she had been given a spare key, which the apartment itself also happened to be way nicer than her's. When he made the offer that she could stop by any time, it also opened the possibility of taking advantage of crashing at his place when it was a better option than her own. Which, it also so happened to be that her air conditioning unit had kicked the bucket last week, and now her hot water heater was acting up to boot. There was hardly any time to catch up between the two, but she happened to catch him at just the right time. It was only a quick couple of texts, but the news and "invitation" couldn't have come up at a better time. She'd be crazy not to take up that unspoken offer.

Claire had moved into an apartment in the next city over from where Chris lived. It's the closest they've been in proximity since what seemed like forever, but not close enough where it'd be a short trip. There would be some distance to cross which would make the trip all the more worthwhile. It would be the perfect opportunity to take the bike out and enjoy some downtime indulging in one of her favorite pastimes. At least it was when the weather was permitting. She was halfway there when it started to snow. There hadn't been any signs of an inclination of weather prior and the sudden snowfall had taken her off guard. More and more started to come down as the roads became tougher to navigate, but she was determined to make it to her final destination, and preferably into much better living conditions, if only as a temporary solution until she could remedy her own. Shit it was cold though...

She felt the snow begin to soak into her gloves and into her jacket; naturally, being leather and not exactly the best suited material for a flash snowstorm. Just a little bit longer until she was there...

The snow had come down so hard that it was bordering on a blizzard. She was freezing and the conditions were unbearable to ride in. At this point she was only a few blocks away and could weather it out, pun intended. It wasn't too long before a terrible clunking sound began emit, a telltale sign that things were about to take a turn for the worse. ]

That can't be goo--

[ and just like that the sounds became louder as the bike slowed significantly until it came to a full stop. ]

Shit! No, no, no, no...

[ as if her cursing and berating it with "no's" would make it suddenly start up again. Claire knew well enough that this wasn't a good sign. Having no choice but to hop off, she holds the bike up with one hand on the handlebars and one on the seat. ]

Guess I'm walking from here...

[ She began to scout out her exact location. If memory served well, she wasn't too far away from her brother's place, but between the heavy snowfall and the extra weight of the bike, the hike over was going to be a lot longer than if she was just walking on her own in normal conditions. Plus, truth be told, she was freezing. There was something familiar about the area though... somewhere she's been before... Realization sets in that a certain someone else happened to live around here, and being without many other options at the moment, she decides to take a risk that will hopefully pay off.

Finding a place to store her bike in the meantime, she'd make her way on foot to a nearby apartment complex, but not before reaching into her pocket to grab her phone -- which was now dead as the bike that she rode in on. ]

You have got to be kidding me!

[ Well, it looked she'd have to drop by unannounced. She buzzed the intercom and hoped that a- who she hoped to find was around, and b- that they'd be okay with taking in a certain younger Redfield for a few hours, or however long this storm lasted. ]

Jill... It's Claire...

[ I fucked up and need a place to crash, is what she wanted to say, but decides to hold her tongue for now. She stood back wrapping her hands around her shoulders as she waited and hoped for a response. ]
