The Personal Hygiene Shipping Meme

Personal hygiene is just that - personal. By the time we've come to a point in our lives where we notice that the concept exists and we should be prudent about it, we can take care of ourselves. There are also many practical reasons why we don't involve other people in this process. We're not too keen on showing off parts to be cleaned that are private in most contexts, and there's definitely an ingrained aversion to showing so much soft, fleshy skin. Hot water or a sharp razor could spell dangerous with a capital D should they come into the hands of someone with a vendetta against you. No need to be extra vulnerable.

So, if you're involving another person in your cleansing routines, it must be someone you trust. Not only that, but it's most likely someone you're comfortable with and likely at least somewhat open to being intimate with. You may not be dropping all your clothing in front of them, but it's still you opening yourself up to touching and closeness unparalleled in more "usual" moments.

Unique: If you're not human, you probably have your own proceeders you have to do to keep all spiffied up. There are wings with stray feathers to pluck, horns on heads to polish, scales to shave down, all sorts of tasks! Introduce your ignorant (and most likely human) boyfriend or girlfriend to your world...and your pain.
Accommodations: Those with disabilities or prosthetics may also have their own routines, and anyone who wants to be with them should learn how to pitch in.
Sponge Bath: You don't have enough water to do this right or you just want to give them a nice rub and scrub with a gentle sponge or wash cloth.
Wound Care: In order for wounds to heal, proper care must be taken. Bandages have to be changed and cuts cleaned out. It's certainly easier when you don't have to do it all by yourself.
Together: You're both cleaning up, taking a bath, splish splash, in the same tub because there's no where else to go. This is the most likely smut option, even if, again, it starts off "platonic."
Clothing: Don't forget that clean clothes are an important part of personal hygiene. Always make sure your partner has a nice, fresh outfit, even if it's to your taste and not theirs.

It took a moment to relax when he stopped, even though Ganymede sighed and bent forward to hold himself up against Nicky's shoulders. "You found an easy mark a little early," he murmured, shifting up in the man's lap a little shakily while he peeled off his shirt; he could help Nicky pull his clothes off.

He let that braid slip from his grasp as Ganymede levered himself upright again just nodding once, smile emerging again, "Noted. And I will be more careful with that in the future."

The smile spread just running one hand up the uninjured side as the shirt came off, his touch light, just enjoying the warmth of Ganymede's skin against his palm.

Ganymede laughed gently, tilting Nicky's face up for another kiss, thorough and slow as he shifted off Nicky's lap, sliding onto the bedcovers. "Come down here with me," he said, reaching out to draw him in that way anyway.

They'd manage to get rid of clothes as they went. "You don't have to be careful about it. Just...things would have come to a rather abrupt end."

"Ah." A nod, wriggling himself down to stretch out alongside Ganymede just stretching both arms over his head as he did so, fingers flexing, "So best to save it for when we're short on time, I understand."

There was amusement in his eyes again, and underlining the statement, though, because he felt it was only fair, and that it wasn't a spot Ganymede was likely to find by accident, he lifted his right arm, tapping twice against the jut of bone at the outside of his wrist with the other hand, "Here's a good one as well." Since he was fairly sure that the other had noticed both collarbone and hipbone got similar reactions.

He laughed once at that. "Anytime you'd like to see just how effectively it works," Ganymede offered, turning onto his uninjured side and drawing Nicky in close, fingertips sliding down the man's arm to that place he'd tapped to show it off. He could certainly play the arousing-the-other game, and kissed Nicky's fingertips and his palm before getting to his wrist. His lips were soft now, teeth barely scraping the skin.

"You've found most of mine, but right...here," Ganymede murmured between kisses, letting Nicky's hand fall and brushing his thumb over a spot of thin skin just between the curve of his jaw an his earlobe. "Every time."

He hummed softly, quiet and pleased at that teasing scrape of teeth, eyes dipping partway closed, legs already tangling with Ganymede's as the other rolled them both partway over, his newly released hand settling light and warm against the stretch of skin just above the curve of his hip.

The hum, while quiet, was also half curious, having to test this information he leaned in to nuzzle lightly at the indicated spot. He was still breathing slow and steady as he did so, thumb sweeping a little half-circle against Ganymede's side.

Ganymede sighed gently at Nicky getting closer and settling a hand on his hip. "Tickles," he murmured, amusement and pleasure evident in his voice as he tilted his head to give more room; the soft, thin skin was sensitive, though not as immediately apparent as pulling his hair. Still, after how close Nicky had gotten him before, it was a short journey to being aroused again.
