the rescue meme.

→ Post with your character’s name, canon, and any preferences in the subject line
→ Those tagging, go to RNG and roll for a number between one and ten.
→ Alternatively, just pick the choice you’re interested in most.
1. BAD DATE - You get a text, a phone call, or maybe you can just see the other person floundering on what clearly must be the worst date of their life. Time to step in and save the day.
2. PRISON - Maybe they've been wrongly convicted, or maybe you're an accomplice. Either way, it's jailbreak time. Maybe the guards will fall for the old 'wounded prisoner' technique.
3. TAKEN HOSTAGE - They're being held at gunpoint, either for money or for fun. Maybe you can talk down their captors — or maybe you are a captor, secretly working to help them.
4. UNWELL - Your body is damaged, your suffering taken its toll. You can't save yourself anymore. You're wounded, you're starving, maybe even dying. Someone, help!
5. YOURSELF - One bad choice after another, your self-destructive tendencies are going to get the best of you unless someone steps in to save the day.
6. BIG DAMN RESCUE - You're hovering over an active volcano, a pit of sharks, about to fall off a cliff. Whatever it is, you've only got precious seconds of life left.
7. LONELINESS - You've been secluded, locked away, and the emptiness is overwhelming. You need company, or you might just drown.
8. UNWANTED SOCIAL FUNCTION - A family reunion, your three o'clock board meeting, whatever it is, you desperately don't want to go. Hopefully your good buddy can come up with a distraction.
9. BAD ROMANCE - You're trapped in a relationship that's headed south. Maybe it's an arranged marriage, or maybe it's just someone who won't take no for an answer. You need a helping hand, maybe even a Prince(ss) Charming.
10. WILDCARD - Any kind of rescue will do! Spread your creative wings and go for it.
Hope you're feeling better!
There, that's the last of it. Cloud eases back as the last of the restraints falls in a heap on the floor, while the man sits up straight. He's tall, Cloud can't help but notice. Really tall, but somehow graceful and powerful looking, and Cloud can't help the way his breath holds when the man reaches for the helmet and...
The next second, Cloud's sprung backwards, his heart's about ready to jump right out his chest when the cat-slit pupils find his. Even as he lands, he knows it's the wrong move; he should've attacked, taken the advantage while he had it, but something in him just flinched back. It's the last person Cloud expected to find down here, but even unarmed (Cloud's eyes dart around, he doesn't see Sephiroth's sword), Sephiroth's dangerous. And Cloud just let him out.
"No fast movements, you hear me?" Cloud's stalling, as he raises the Buster Sword between them. "How the hell did you end up here?"
And what did they use to subdue him?
thank you ! I'm a lot better than I was ;;
His eyes narrow slightly as he just sorta stares down Cloud for a moment before abruptly breaking his gaze away. He eyes the flashing lights before dropping down to the computers that surround them. If anything brings back distasteful memories it's a place like this.
Though he's not stalling he does delay in answering for a second as he takes a moment to try and clear his head, shaking it slightly.
"To answer your question: I don't know. But I would suggest destroying those," he nods back at the computers. "And then us both leaving. I want out of here and you don't want them to recreate anything else related to me, do you?"

He watches, breath held and sword held up between them like a shield as they stare each other down, Mako-infused eyes meeting each other, tense as he tries to read Sephiroth for any sign he's about to strike. The man's fast. Faster than he is, and he's getting his bearings back.
What Cloud doesn't expect is for Sephiroth to look away first from a hostile. The other man just.... glances around like he's been landed in the worst of the Sectors' sewers, or given a best seat in the house at Corneo's favorite brothel. Or maybe like he just doesn't find Cloud a threat.
Cloud sure as hell doesn't holster the sword. But he does sidle up to one of the computers, tapping away at the keyboard to scroll as best as he can through the data, without looking away from Sephiroth too long. It's not easy to concentrate with the alarms blaring, the red lights flashing at all corners of the room, and the man's green eyes burning like an afterimage across his vision. "No, but I'm not exactly going to trust you either. Sure there's plenty in here that worries you if they got you subdued."

And of course Cloud is probably trying to quickly figure out if there's anything he can use to take him down. Of course. What would he do with the information? Attempt to lock him away? Not even the lifestream can fully contain him ... but these scientists did something. Would Cloud go down that path and condemn him to that sort of hell? It's an interesting thought though Sephiroth does not intend to end up in this situation again.
He does move towards the computer Cloud is searching through -- slowly (no sudden moves right?). Mostly to hurry him along as he's sure he won't want him looming anywhere near.
"Putting your feelings towards me aside -- if they are attempting to revive the Jenova Project, it will go poorly for all of us. And I will not be one of their experiments again." Even if that means destroying everything twice over to prevent it.
Sorry, didn't get a notif
Dealing with SHINRA and all the little divisions that keep popping up like cockroaches is preferable to fighting Sephiroth. For one, none of them are the strongest First Class SOLDIER alive. He's on a timetable though; Barret and Tifa are expecting him, and they gotta blow the facility soon.
But if Cloud could find something useful, something strong enough to make even Sephiroth hesitate...
That's when he catches motion out of the corner of his eye. Cloud's head jerks up, and he's tense all over as he notices Sephiroth drawing near. Cloud falls back a step, tensed, the Buster Sword feeling heavy and suddenly unwilling in his grip as the other man takes a step, then another. He should strike, or move back... and yet something in him has him remaining there without even a good defense as Sephiroth actually draws right up next to him. The air seems to crackle between them, the same sort you got before a coming storm.
"Figured that sort of thing would be right up your alley. What, we're supposed to work together now? What happens after?"
no worries, it's been a busy time here lol
"Yes," he says slowly turning to face Cloud again. "It would be in both our best interests. As for what happens after that ... well, that all depends on you, Cloud."
He'll leave it at that. Cloud can make his own assumptions which will probably be wrong, but it's always interesting to see how he thinks. Sephiroth could mean no harm in the world and he'd probably still come to the worst possible conclusion about him.
Not that he'd entirely blame him all things considered.
"I don't carry a fondness for places like this. If you were planning on destroying it. I suggest you do it soon. The longer you stand here, gawking at me in fear the less chance of a success you have."

Instead, Sephiroth settles next to him, and pins him with the same feline look a rat gets in its last moments. It's all Cloud can do not to flinch or look away. Stubbornly - even if Cloud can't seem to completely pull himself together - he makes himself meet his gaze, even if it feels like his skin's littered with goosebumps and the hairs at the nape of his neck want to stand on edge.
"I can't let you go. You know that," Cloud says, stiffly. His hand curls into a fist, but... destroying it is the right call. Better no one gets it than SHINRA has it. "You need to answer for everything you've done. But...fine."
Reluctantly, he lifts the sword, but can't seem to just take a swing at the other man standing at his side. If Sephiroth wanted him dead, it would've happened the moment he got this close. if this place held Sephiroth, they're about to have an army of guards descending on them. The blade comes down, in a shower of sparks on one workstation, then the next.

"Now now, Cloud. I did already die once. How many times will my blood need to be spilled before you are satisfied?" He steps away from the computers as Cloud finishes them off to look for what might be their best exit route.
"Always remember your hate, Cloud, but never let it blind you."
Which is kind of hypocritical advice for Sephiroth to be giving, but out of anyone he would know what having that much hate is like. His entire being revolves around it.
