[Canonically a singer so this will be right up his alley. Original or Heroes canon or AU are perfect.]

[Evenings like this are a sort of blessing, and it was hard for her to believe in blessings to begin with.

But there was a lot to be said as Daria was laying her head on Aurora’s shoulder as she began to sing to herself. Daria flipped through a new book she got from the library, being very careful to turn the pages so slightly as to not disturb her. She burst into song like this like the stereotypical princess she was, woodland animals be damned. But now...and it was so funny, but it became no longer ironic.

It was like the old days in which Daria would listen to Trent’s guitar, close and far away in a crowd of people. But now she had front row seats, take that squirrels she had the VIP treatment.

Her breathing was also light as she just was intent on listening to the hymn from her princess partner.]

[Aurora, for her part, is looking over documents, her guardian owl sitting up high and soundly asleep. Gifted with song, as she is, she struggles to do tasks in silence, so even just humming or singing always accompanies even simple tasks, like looking over plans and proposals from the parliament, her family having pulled away from absolute monarchy. Her song dies down a tiny bit as she rereads a sentence and then is replaced by a 'hmmm' which even that is rather melodic.

She sets it to the side, her song going back to normal as she moves on to the book she is to read for the next opera she's singing in, the book being what the opera is based on. Her hand is idly stroking Daria's hair.

And then, her little habit of reading the sentences of the text comes out.]

[Ah, words now.

Daria’s breathing wasn’t even softer as words from the book she read seemed to come out as time passed. First it was things with no real pinpointed direction, and now it was deliberate sing song from text.

Her ears were able to process this as she listened. Despite being not musically inclined, the sound of music fascinated her. She was a woman of the word, of what was on paper. Lyrics and notes came from them, and held meaning.]

...New opera.

[She whispered that out as a few birds were into view. A cardinal landing on her shoulder.]

[Here, Aurora smiled as Daria spoke to her animal friends. Where Aurora went, they followed, it could not be helped.

She gave a small nod to her bird friends, watching as more animals came in through the window. Several songbirds joined in, harmonizing with her or when she would repeat a melody, they trilled it back at her.

Eventually, her owl woke up, a loud "WHO!" startling some of the birds as Aurora merely opened up her arms and he flew down, singing with her as well, though it was not nearly as pretty as the songbirds. He moved to land on the table, examining the book only owls could.

Several other small animals, chipmunks and rabbits and squirrels were all coming over. A rabbit had taken up residence in Daria's shoe, an old habit the little thing couldn't get rid of.]

[A few of the squirrels and chipmunks came to sit on Daria's lap to get full viewing of the display.

Damn cheaters.

Still, what a sight it was. The very reclusive 90's chick was really sitting here and watching a Disney scene unfold. And then, she did nothing. Her head laid back to her position on Aurora's shoulder.

Sorry fuzzballs, I get the best seat in the house.

Maybe she would've made remarks at the sheer audacity of this happening in her bitter life but now as she was deep in it for so long...when was the point in which you accept it? And enjoy it?

She found her hand petting the squirrels and allow the rabbit to make a home out of her boot. If this was her defeat, then she was fine being the loser.

She chuckled under her breath a bit before her low voice found herself humming with her. She knew this opera.]
