[ This would be a lot easier if Claris knew what it was like to be in a relationship. Hand holding, giving each other lovey-dovey nicknames, she doesn't have experience in any of this, which makes the whole operation they're on even more nerve-wracking. But it would be easier to gather information while at a fancy venue like this if they were playing the part of two doting teenagers on a date, rather than a pair of seemingly unrelated high school students who somehow managed to wander into a fancy restaurant like this.

That's what she's telling herself, at least. This will make for a great story one day, but right now she's a bundle of nerves.

Dressed like they were going out on a date, Claris sits at a table in Le Blanc, reading a book while she waits. It's the only thing she can do to keep her mind off of things. ]

[ To be fair, Akira doesn't have any first-hand experience either; everything he knows was learned through observation, nothing more. Today's mission might prove to be challenging, but for some reason, he's not too worried.

Perhaps he's way too relaxed, considering how he overslept, thankfully not too much. But it leads to a slight delay while he's getting prepared for their "date". Finally, fifteen minutes after their planned leave, Akira rushes down the stairs, wearing a gray shirt and a pair of jeans. ]

Sorry for the wait, I'll make it up to you at— [ Akira pauses, leaving the sentence hanging as he notices Claris sitting at the table. ] At the restaurant.

[ It's a good thing that Sojiro isn't around—Akira can't imagine his reaction not getting a snarky comment. ]

You look great, I mean it.

[ Truth be told, Claris lost track of time, caught up in what she's reading. It calms her nerves, and while normally she would be content to lose herself in her book, she forces herself to at least somewhat pay attention to her surroundings. The sound of his voice is what finally pulls her back to reality, as she quickly looks up. ]

That's all right—

[ She figured that he would dress up a bit for this operation, but Akira still manages to catch her by surprise. She isn't nearly as adept at playing it off, however, staring up at him briefly in silence as her brain struggles to catch up.

He's complimenting her too... what does she do with this? ]

Y-you too. [ Say something else, Claris! ] But then, you always do.

[ ...Not that. ]

You're exaggerating...but thanks.

[ Akira might be trying to play it cool, but his flushed cheeks are betraying him. If only he could be suave at all times, alas. ]

Are you ready? You can tell me about the book you're reading on our way to the restaurant.

[ That should help both of them relax before the mission. ]

[ He's blushing..? She was just trying to compliment him, did she say too much? She probably said too much, but she can't deny that that look isn't charming in its own right.

Claris nods, a small, bashful smile spreading across her lips as she stands up. ]

Alright, let's go.

[ There's a small spring in her step as she moves. She isn't used to people asking about what she's reading, so she will have to be careful not to talk his ear off. ]

[ Since they'll have to change train lines twice, that should give them plenty of time to go through the objectives of their mission as well as talk about the book Claris has been reading. While Akira does read more than an average student, he wouldn't call himself a bookworm. Even so, it's fun to listen to Claris' opinions, not to mention that her recommendations were always on point. ]

Before you tell me what kind of book it is, let me guess how many books you've read this week. [ Teasing her this way is another source of fun for him. ] I'd say...it's the fourth one.

[Hyerin hates these kinds of missions. Not because Nic isn't a good guy or anything. She trusts him. He's a good partner and mentor. But these kinds of missions always drag on just a little too long to be comfortable.

Also uncomfortable, are these goddamned heels. Which means Hyerin has to stop and pull on Nic's jacket, and act like he should somehow fix her own problem.]

Hold on, you're too fast.

[ Undercover missions weren't exactly unheard of for Nic to take, and he knows that Hyerin would probably need to do it too at one point. And it's probably for the best that he's her partner for this.

But them in a "relationship"?

There ... may be some problems later one. But hopefully they can figure things out before they have to get to that particular point......

He shakes his head. Okay, no, no point worrying about this.

It's about that point when Hyerin tugs at his jacket, and he snaps out of it completely, turning to face her as he sees her struggling with walking. ]

[There isn't anyone else who would agree to this undertaking, Hyerin knows. The organization is made up of skilled people, but... She isn't exactly nice. Or welcoming. It's not as though she's blind to her faults, she simply doesn't care enough right now to try and get her old personality back. So Nic, poor bastard, was the only choice.

Hyerin bites back a disgusted groan and bends to rework the buckle closure of her shoe. This is stupid. Why try to impress boys with stringy, flimsy shoes?

The only upside is the chance to take a quick look around and see if the target will take the bait of stupid, slow "lovers" taking up the whole sidewalk and pass them. St least then they could start narrowing down just where this piece of shit hides out when he's in town]

It's no use, hun. They're gonna give out on me, but you spent so much on them... No fair.

It's okay, babe. I'd rather have you walking well either way. I'll get better heels next time. Unless you want me to carry you?

[ He grins as he says it with a cheesy eyebrow wiggle - and while this is actually something he would say and do with a girlfriend, he's internally wincing and hoping that Hyerin doesn't get mad at him for it. But the fact that they have a second to look around does help. It's just a matter of seeing if they can spot their target while they "figure this out". ]

[When she winces and closes her eyes, Hyerin imagines her axe. Not the normal happy thought, but she's been told that it makes her smile reflexively. Something Jisoo could make her do.]

You want me to flash my panties at the whole mainstreet? You've got such a pervy mindset sometimes.

[That's a solid "no" on being carried. Hyerin is still smiling when she looks back at Nic and manages to lean into his shoulder.]

Nothing of the sort! I was trying to be chivalrous!! [ Nic pouts, lip jutting out. ] Can't believe you thought I'd do it for less-than-pure reasons. Truly, I'm hurt.

[ He sights, still looking somewhat hurt before he shifts to help her stay on her feet instead - aha. It's a subtle flare, but there's definitely something off a little way off from where they're at currently, slowly approaching their direction. ]
