Claire was on a tight schedule to make it to Raccoon City. She started two days ago, alone, on her Harley-Davidson bike. Detroit was her next stop, then it would be Raccoon City, if all went well in Detroit. Chris had been M.I.A. for about a week, and he never kept her waiting. Which was why she knew something was up. Their last contact was about five days ago, and she knew by the third day she needed to make this trip. The choice was easy to make, there wasn't any dilly-dallying about, she planned, packed, and headed out before sunset.
Detroit could be a dangerous place, physically and financially, if you didn't know your way around the city, and the way it was run - not by the government but the people who were in charge. Claire packed accordingly for the drive and the environment, meaning she packed heavy. Her bike had plenty of ammo, guns, and the suit she wore both kept her cool and dry through the weather changes as she rode across state lines. It was late September when she started this trip, by the time she arrived in Detroit, it was September 27th. Claire's helmet signaled her where to go as she got into town, it had a built-in monitor and helped her blend in with the aesthetic of Detroit. The city was known for its high-tech advances and androids-which was exactly why she was there.
She was picking up an older model android fit to be scrapped, and with her skills in machinery and auto-mechanics, she wanted to fix it up. She bought it cheap, though the plan was to have it shipped since she was coming through to meet Chris she got an extra discount for picking it up directly from the shop. The robot was operational but not sellable by the standards of the manufacturer, and with Androids being popular, newer models came out all the time. People could afford to buy ones that worked, and no one wanted the broken ones.
Claire entered the shop full of knick-knacks and older renditions of androids, parts, and other machinery parts for all sorts of tech. She could have a field day in here, but she had to keep focused. Claire only had room enough on her bike for the android and supplies for the trip. Maybe, after checking in on Chris, she could come back and take another gander and get some things to ship back to her place. The owner showed her to where the android was, emailed her the diagnostic report, and she sent him the payment. After that, the shop owner retreated to the front of the store. Claire cocked her head and brought her hands to her hips. "Alright, Adam Jensen." She sighed. This wasn't her first time interacting with an android, but it was her first time owning one. "I saved you from the android graveyard. You don't have to thank me, but you do gotta come with me."
