[ guarded. whether canon extension (star violinist, often abroad), or au (almost anything is fine honestly as long as it integrates his connection to music somehow) he's probably a handful and i'm sorry. m/m. 21+ ]
[ Guarded. She IS a princess after all. ]
(she is definitely a royal in this scenario.)
[ She's probably the guarded, thanks to being the Oracle. But I am willing to have Luna be the guardian as well. ]
[ Either. She's a princess, but she's also martial artist so she can kick ass with the best of them. ]
( we started in the Underdark and now we're here — roaming the surface world in liberation (read: evacuation) from the realm of dark elves, Valryn calls himself a foreign dignitary...but to call a spade a spade, Valryn more akin to a mob boss living it up in the real world. connections galore, fingers in every pie in his reach, funding projects and breaking knuckles for every day a loan is past due. you know the trope.
Valryn has quite a lot of pleasant, beneficial agreements with people on the surface... but it's his family (and enemies) from home that he is endangered by. Valryn absolutely keeps himself guarded, anticipating any unexpected attempt on the daily. he keeps the best and strongest at his side often. he can fight for himself, but guards make for better distractions over an escape.
would love a guard on his payroll, basically right hand man status, part guard dog and part weapon to direct. especially love action scenes, and/or aftermath of an intense fight.

"One time too many, Bond. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, sure, but eventually you'd rather just replace the bloody thing." It had been harsh, sure, but Bond had had worse reviews. None had quite lead to such an impressive streak of drinking at home, of course, mostly because he didn't have any reason to be home this much until he was forcibly retired from MI6.
Jobless for a while. But inactivity really could kill him, and would have, if he hadn't come across an unusual opportunity for a job.
Bond had taken to it with the calculated aggression he'd approached every single job he'd ever had. The only different with this one was that when Bond looked up over the body of the first would-be assassin he'd killed and locked eyes with his new boss, Valryn smiled so wide his white teeth looked like they were floating in the voided backdrop of his skin. 'Maybe you'll do after all,' followed by a hissing word that Bond eventually learned the meaning of via an online translator, after multiple failed guesses as to the spelling.
He'd assumed it must have been the word for human. But what stares back at him is "guard dog".
He smiles and puts his phone aside.

Bond doesn't think he's ever disarmed someone and shot them with their own gun so quickly before. The body that falls isn't charcoal-black, but pale like Bond himself; it's humans that have come this time, and it's humans that Bond has been trying to kill for the past twenty minutes.
He stands in the dark room and listens. The silence itself is threatening. The loudest noise is his own sweat dripping off the end of his nose and off his elbows for five breaths. Ten.
Something in the lefthand corner moves, and Bond fires. The momentary flash shows him a shape with its arm outstretched...but clearly they didn't get a chance to discharge their weapon.
Bond moves towards the right, gun in one hand, reaching into his pockets for a penlight in the other. He'd counted four when they got jumped. He's killed three. He saw Valryn kill the fourth, but they'd exchanged hits when it happened--
His penlight beam exposes his boss, on the ground, blood pooled across the concrete.
Bond swallows. "Status."

[Want a street punk with a giant crush he tries (badly) to hide? Could either be a self-appointed childhood-friend-turned-bodyguard, or he could have taken on the job maybe to repay a debt to her family and then got emotionally invested, or whatever other CR works for you!]

[Can go either way: she's protecting an asset, or is being protected. But if she's the protected one, expect her to take an active role in threat assessment and strategies.]
