[Welp! Kanda did say he was coming to collect his golem from the Benriya office. Worick was fine with it -- he just didn't realize how long it'll be. It's been hours, feels like, and there's only so much nuzzling and affection-sharing with a golem that a man can do before his interest starts to wane. Now, in Kanda's defense, he didn't say when he'll be by, so Worick can't get annoyed by how long it's taking him.

He does start to grow tired, though, and before long, he starts to drift off, even with the golem perched nearby. He doesn't think he'll be completely out of it by the time Kanda rolls by but that's exactly what ends up happening And with Nicolas and Alex gone out to the Dr. Theo's clinic, the office is unusually...quiet. Peaceful, even.]

( Kanda procrastinates meeting Worick. He wants to belive his golem is broken rather than choosing to hang out with the other man, but he can't quite convince himself of that. Kanda stops at a bar to eat some food and to have a drink, prolonging the inevitable. It's not like the golem betrayed him, it was just too simple to hold complex feelings, and it was obvious to Kanda the damn thing picked up on one of Kanda's stronger emotions for Worick.

It really pisses Kanda off. The more he stuffs his feelings away, the less room he has until they surface. For a long while, Kanda resolved his emotions were out of loneliness, but that changed when he began to think about Alma.

They were born together from a womb of lies. The only parents they knew were the scientists to greet them after they crawled from their pseudo womb. They were experiments, and they were fake, they were recycled parts of former lives. However, it never mattered to Alma what Kanda was. Alma tirelessly sought out Kanda to befriend, always referring to him closely, always chasing after him. Worick wasn't the same; Kanda's thoughts of Alma came from feelings seeping bast the barrier he built around his heart. Worick was friendly, persistent, determined, but Kanda knew the other man could get along without him - in a way, Alma couldn't.

Was Kanda holding out for Alma? It was never going to happen, not in this life, and they weren't likely to have another life to look for one another after this one. Why, then, did Kanda think of Alma when assessing his feelings for Worick? Was he trying to force Alma into Worick - or Worick into Alma? Either way, it was fucked up and uncomfortable to think about, hence why he kept pushing those feelings down.

He couldn't understand his feelings, and he was reluctant to try and understand them.

The apartment was quiet, Kanda wasn't sure Worick was even home - Nicolas could be quiet though, so he wouldn't be surprised to find him. Alex had this habit of singing, she did have a beautiful voice, but even she seemed to be out. Of course, Kanda had let himself in the flat and made a b-line to Worick's room. He idled at the threshold, peering into the cool, dark room. His golem was bundled up next to Worick, on the pillow, mimicking sleep. It, of course, acknowledged Kanda's presence but remained still.

Damn nuisance. Kanda, however, focuses his attention back on Worick. The white-haired man looks peaceful, relaxed, genuine. If there was one thing, Kanda understood it was that he didn't want to lose anyone important to him again. In times like this, he can fantasize that Worick was in on that secret. That Kanda could even admit it to himself, let alone Worick. Perhaps that's why he thought of Alma around Worick.

The closer he felt to Worick the larger the warning in his heart grew. Can he go through another loss like that again? Could Kanda's body even survive another heartbreak?

So, it has to be a secret. Kanda will settle himself somewhere quietly in Worick's room and watch him sleep. If it's long enough, he might fall asleep himself.
