Except things didn't seem... right. She was always a boisterous sort and even if her behavior was odd before, it wasn't like this. She made mistakes in training, couldn't answer questions correctly, fell asleep in class--and oddly, too. Those close to her said other things were just off, too.

That's probably why Seteth had wanted to talk to her. She's practically laying half on a table from her seated position when he enters the nearly empty dining hall. A small smile played on her lips.]

The waterways and lakes that encircle the town swell with the rainfall. Maria worries and fusses about flooding, about the dam, about their crops, but most of the rest of the town simply takes advantage. Small goups crowd around the creek shores closest to home during the hottest parts of the day, where it's safe enough for even the youngest townsfolk to cool themselves. ]
