OPTIONS FOR THE SCENARIO-MINDED:
1. ENEMIES: in for the kill
The truth is you've been plotting each other's death for a long time. The only thing different about this situation is that everyone else actually wants you to off each other. Who cares if both of you are probably going to die anyway: no one is taking this bastard down except you.

2. ROMANCE: lovers in a dangerous time
What do lovers do when they know they're about to die? Last kiss, last words, last fuck? Maybe you're desperately trying to protect each other from the rest. Maybe you're the last two left alive. What sacrifices are you willing to make? How far will you allow each other to go?

3. ALLIES: set your arms down
It's in both of your best interests to stick together. Two together is more deadly than one, and you can pool supplies and weapons. Of course, this arrangement is most definitely temporary. Maybe it'll fall apart tonight, or tomorrow, or next week. Maybe your alliance has already run its course, and it's about to fall apart...right now.

4. TORTURE: death's not the worst
Sure, the point is to kill them. But why leave it at that? Maybe you've always secretly gotten off on this sort of thing, or maybe you've just cracked under the stress. When everyone is going to die, there's no point in sticking to all those rules society laid down for you any more. You've already incapacitated them; there's no way they can fight back. Might as well have some fun, right?

5. VICTORY: the finish line
You've done it. Last one standing. You've chosen to live, and no one but you knows how much that choice cost you, because they're all dead. At this point there's nothing that will stop you from stepping up to claim victory. You killed every other tribute. Or did you?

6. OTHER: write your own story
Anything and everything you can think of. Maybe you're not a Tribute, but a Capitol citizen at a lavish watching party. Maybe you're a Mentor courting sponsors, or a Stylist getting your Tribute ready for the arena. Or are you a Gamemaker, with even more cruel surprises to shock and awe?

While many in Panam were treated unkindly, immigrants weren’t treated like people.

He came from the north, the city destroyed, nowhere else to go they fled south to the great country in hopes of refuge. At first, they received it, they were interviewed and tested where their skills lay. Some went to fishing in district four, some to mine coal in twelve. Vincent was good with mechanics, and so to district six he went.

For three months, he was content, settled in his work, and then, they started rounding people up for the games and he was plucked. He wasn’t missed, no one to miss him.

He and over a dozen others, many who’d also come from the city of Mosk, were kept in an undisclosed location, and treated suspiciously well. Given some of the best food, facilities and even leisure at their disposal. Vincent knew it was all too good to be true, but still partook in what was allowed them. Hard not to. The games started and they even got to watch the superhumans show off to the judges and get ranked.

Then, on the eve they were to begin, the group was rounded up again and taken to the arena, dropped off in random areas in a woodland with only the clothes on his back. Vincent didn’t even know they were in the arena until the announcer spoke and welcomed the superhumans to the Hunger Games.

And he realized a dreadful truth. They were fattened cattle let loose to be toyed and eaten by the superhumans. Nowhere to go. Their deaths might not even be watched, they weren’t the entertainment after all. But Vincent knew if any tried to kill him...

The first night he heard several canon fires, and the pictures of the dead in the sky. Almost half were depleted bringing the number of humans and the supers even. At least before they entered the arena. How many were dead? Was he already the last?

He was cold, the woodland was green but very chilly. He had to make a fire or suffer a sleepless night-He saw a light...

It was very much a trap, but he had no choice. So he approached it.

Warmth greeted him several feet before he got to it and he sighed as his half frozen fingers regained feeling over the flames.

"Well, we're on our own...again." he sighed quietly to himself

Another year, another tribute.

Number Seven, usually just referred to as 'Seven', is the mentor for District 7. She probably had a normal name at some point, but she doesn't answer to it anymore. She usually keeps to herself, playing her violin in the Victor's village and abusing anxiety medication all year until it's time for the Reaping, when she finally comes out of the Village and attends the Reaping. After the newest male tribute is reaped--a boy named Steve Harrington--Seven just sighs as she does every year and pulls her hair into a ponytail. She gives a token smile for the money shot when the tributes are presented before retreating to the train.

Seven sits in the dining car, writing notes down as she waits for Steve to finish saying his goodbyes and get ushered into the car. Close up, it's easy to see her unnaturally pale, luminescent skin and bright white irises. A side effect of something that happened to her in her Games, and people don't usually say much more about that.

She looks up at Steve when he arrives, making no attempt to soothe the fear and anxiety he's surely feeling. She's been at this too long to do that anymore.

"Hi, Steve. Take a seat. Eat something if you can."

Here's my idea, Frankie. No one's heard of me. I weigh about 95 pounds soaking wet, and they'll just assume I'm going to throw axes at everyone's head. They're going to think I'm stupid. Well, I'm not stupid.

(Her plan was to making everyone go ahead and think that. That she was weak and lash out at any chance. Hot headed, that's what they all thought Seven was.)

[The train raced away from the coasts of District 4, heading toward the Capitol at a break-neck speed. Annie couldn't watch as the sea disappeared out of sight as they took a turn.

Wiping her eyes, she took a deep breath, trying to focus. One of her hands began to worry the edges of the hair just a few hours ago her mother had woven for her. She could do this. She'd been training for this.

But they only trained you for the arena, not for the few hours and days ahead when the undeniable weight that you were probably going to die was heavy on your shoulders.

She's a few moments from starting to cry again when she turns into what appears to be the main car. Maybe here she can find something to distract herself. Oh- look. A place to sit. A place to sit and think about the odds and how long the average person took to drown, what sort of knives they'd have for her. Think about something, anything other than what's about to come.

She closes her eyes and exhales, letting the train rock back and fourth. She could almost pretend it was a boat.]

[ Enough tours through the Capitol under his belt now, Finnick knows what to look for in people still new to it. (Annie has a hard enough time with them; mentoring tends to drag up its on insidious brand of trauma, and he's not likely to argue against the point any time soon). It's rare to find a rage that burns half as brightly as Johanna's.

He doesn't know the story. Not entirely. Only what can be obviously gleaned from being impressed to "convince her" to join him in his particular, personal hell. He'd swallowed the retort, he always has. (Somehow, he thinks Johanna's done the very thing he's been too much of a coward to do; why else would he be asked to work his "charm" here?) ]

And here I thought a victory tour was meant to be a party, huh?

[ It's innocuous enough as he catches her in the halls at the complex, innocent enough that anyone overhearing might assume he was serious. But underneath, it's barbed. As much is plain in the roll of his eyes as he says it, a give meant only for her. ]

[ The games are dead and as freshly buried as the district he's left behind, but the rumination--for once--is not what has spurred him forth. It's that odd, lingering feeling of this collection of people being all the family any one of them has left. (Which is fine by Peeta; his hadn't been ideal; he misses his father, but beyond there's not much to miss).

While digging through her kitchen for everything he needs (pans, eggs, sugar...), he catches glimpses of Annie staring out the back window. He doesn't know if this is a comfort thing, some marvel that they once again finally have those, if she's in that distant place he understands so much more now than he'd used to, or a momentary distraction. It's hard to tell from a glimpse, but the random clatter in the kitchen doesn't seem to shake her.

Pacing around in circles trying to find the last thing he needs, he decides to at least try to interrupt whatever reverie that's gripped her, though part of him feels the villain for doing it. ]

Do you have flour?
