[The elevator does not come to a very gentle halt and Claire catches herself with the railing. As the lights overhead flicker out, she has that extremely cliche (and unhelpful) thought that this simply cannot be happening to her right now. Strangely, this does not appear to change circumstances any. Whatever back-up generator keeps some semblance of power to this elevator kicks in and the lights come back on.]

[Well, come back on might be a bit of a stretch. They're dim and they flicker worse than a kitchen light everybody complains about but never thinks to change or fix and just keep helplessly flicking the light on and off until it properly turns on. But it's better than being submerged in darkness, she supposes.]

[Claire rights herself, stepping forward to press any button and there's nothing. Nothing but the creak and vague click of the button as its depressed and released a handful of times in rapid succession.]

[It was worth a shot.]

[Stepping back, she puts her hands on her hips and begins looking from the doors in front to the ceiling to see if she can spy a hatch. She's not really trying to be rude in ignoring her companion so much as she'd prefer to focus on problem-solving sooner rather than later.]

[And besides, there's an unspoken rule about talking to strangers on elevators, right? That's gotta extend at least for the first minute or two after the elevator stops like this.]

[ when the elevator stops, azalea's immediate reaction is to wait out whatever power surge caused the problem in the first place, no matter what reaction her elevator mate has. these sorts of things have redundancies, rebooting processes. she silently counts out long enough that the power should have come back, then starts rooting around in the bag she has slung over her shoulder. ]

Cool. This is great.

[ she's mostly just muttering to herself, pulling out a small hand flashlight as she talks and flicking it on to illuminate the elevator's control panel. ]

[ It had been a long time since Ashe's job had taken her overseas to meet with a potential buyer. Getting out of Deadlock Gorge was a real treat when she got the opportunity, but she had to proceed with caution. She opted not to draw too much attention to herself: dressed down, business casual, wore a pair of brown contacts that concealed the red of her eyes and put on a softly curled brunette wig that could fool anyone. B.O.B. stayed behind in the nearby hotel, awaiting a call from her should any issues arise.

Arriving at an office building in downtown Cairo, the blast of cool air is almost disorienting from the heat outside. By some miracle, the elevator takes no time at all to reach the bottom floor and as soon as the occupants file out, she steps inside, reaching to press the button for the 17th floor.

The elevator is one that faces the outside of the building, allowing it's occupants a view of the city. Egypt is lovely, really. Such a different atmosphere and rich in history and culture. She's already planning on doing some sight seeing after her meeting. Surely, B.O.B. might enjoy it as well. ]
